Jeff Brunton | Meta-Evidence
"Priority screening works through an ‘active learning’ process, in which the software, using machine learning, makes predictions on an item’s relevance and generates a prioritised list of citations for the reviewer to look at next. Those predictions are then made more accurate based on the reviewer’s decisions about an item’s relevance. This process will allow you to find a very high percentage of your included studies very early in the screening process. The major benefit of this is that you are able to move onto the later stages of the review much more quickly. It can be used in any review – including those where you do look at every citation manually – as the fact that you find the relevant studies more quickly is very useful in and of itself."
