Titanium Software - OnyX
Learned about through this article: https://eclecticlight.co/2017/08/11/launch-services-database-problems-correcting-and-rebuilding/

Going to use it to rebuild Launch Services - and hopefully fix the issue of my Mac constantly reverting back to images being opened defautly in Grab (instead of Preview) and PDF in Adobe Acrobat (instead of Preview).

OnyX is a multifunction utility that you can use to verify the structure of the system files, to run miscellaneous maintenance and cleaning tasks, to configure parameters in the Finder, Dock, Safari, and some of Apple's applications, to delete caches, to remove certain problematic folders and files, to rebuild various databases and indexes, and more.

Use two Mac apps side by side in Split View
1/ Hold down the full-screen button in the upper-left corner of a window.

2/ As you hold the button, the window shrinks and you can drag it to the left or right side of the screen.

3/ Release the button, then click another window to begin using both windows side by side.

OS X asks Where is FinderSyncAPIExtension on startup
That extension is for Google drive: Right-click on the Google drive application in the system wide Applications folder, then select show package contents. Then navigate to Contents/PlugIns/FinderSyncAPIExtension.appex Do that the next time OS X asks you for the location, it should work if I am remembering what I did correctly.

Benchmarks don't lie: SSD upgrades deliver huge performance gains
You’ll see big performance differences among newer drives, too: Samsung’s 840 Pro, for instance, is the fastest consumer SSD we’ve tested. Other top performers include Seagate’s 600 series, Corsair’s Neutron series, the OCZ Vertex and Vector series, and SanDisk’s Extreme II series.

OS X keyboard shortcuts
Nothing really works like Windows + D on a PC to minimize all applications and show the desktop in the same manner on a Mac. Here are a few options: Command-H Hide the windows of the currently running application Command-Option-H Hide the windows of all other running applications Command-M Minimize the active window to the Dock Command-Option-M Minimize all windows of the active application to the Dock (didn't work on my computer as described). COMMAND + M seems to be the best option.

Can I rotate text boxes in Keynote?
If you click on the text box once to select it, and then put the cursor over the square boxes at the left or right edge of the text box, the cursor should change to double-ended arrows. Does this happen? If so, then when you hold down the command key, the double-ended arrows should be curved, and you could then hold down the mouse button and drag to rotate.
