Epi Info™ is a public domain suite of interoperable software tools designed for the global community of public health practitioners and researchers. It provides for easy data entry form and database construction, a customized data entry experience, and data analyses with epidemiologic statistics, maps, and graphs for public health professionals who may lack an information technology background. Epi Info™ is used for outbreak investigations; for developing small to mid-sized disease surveillance systems; as analysis, visualization, and reporting (AVR) components of larger systems; and in the continuing education in the science of epidemiology and public health analytic methods at schools of public health around the world.

LiteMap is an online collaborative tool to visually structure and make sense of complex problems. With LiteMap face-to-face and online debates can be mapped visually by building knowledge maps, such as concept, argument and issue maps. These are network maps which are characterised by different semantic data models, and can be used to address different collective sense making needs (such as brainstorming, collaborative discussion and building common understating).

Voici une époustouflante galerie d'images qui illustre bien comment la visualisation de données communique un impact à un niveau émotionnel et rend les concepts complexes plus faciles à comprendre. Il s'agit d'une représentation de l'Amérique par elle-même (An American Self-Portrait). Chaque image montre une quantité spécifique de quelque chose : 15 millions de feuilles de papier de bureau (cinq minutes d'utilisation du papier); 106,000 boites d'aluminum (trente secondes de consommation de boites de conserve); 10,000 traînées d'avion; etc.
