- I love some of the design details in this watch such as the lugs. Less convinced by the aesthetics of the dial, the hands and the lack of protection given to the crown

Shiseido’s Beauty App Promises Perfect Skin — at $92 a Month - Bloomberg
Shiseido is targeting women facing “the dilemma of valuing skincare but struggling to find the time to find the perfect formula,” Shigekazu Sugiyama, president of Shiseido Japan, said at a news conference in Tokyo. Research by the company shows that the more hectic the lifestyle, the greater the fluctuation seen in complexion, he said.

Optune’s cylindrical device mixes and dispenses a personalized formula twice a day, with as many as 80,000 different combinations. The product’s software, available as an iPhone app, takes photos of the user’s face in order to detect skin conditions. The data is analyzed together with sleep rhythms and menstrual cycles, as well as external factors such as weather and air pollution, in order to deliver the right mix of serums.

Dolce & Gabbana's Expanded Sizing "Proves They’re Really about Selling Clothing," Not Just Leveraging it — The Fashion Law
Dolce & Gabbana has announced that it will increase its sizing to include garments that will range up to size 54 in Italy, the approximate equivalent of a stateside size 18? You bet it is. The move by the Milan-based brand to extend its sizing – which went into force with its currently available pre-fall collection – “makes it one of the most inclusive designer brands for women,” according to The Independent’s Olivia Petter, a far cry from most high fashion brands, which Fashionista’s deputy editor Tyler McCall says “stop much closer to a size 10 [or] below that even.” - I think its a smart move given their problems in China

242 Year Old Birkenstock is Not Interested in Being on Fashion's "Trendy Punch List" — The Fashion Law
Birkenstock also turned down a collaboration with Supreme, which could very well be the buzziest streetwear brand in the world, with its bouncer-flanked stores and incessantly sold-out wares.

“It was never about function for them, just logos,” Klaus Baumann, Birkenstock’s chief sales officer, speaking about Supreme, which regularly draws long lines of consumers outside of its store every week on Thursday when it “drops” new products, including collaborations. “These were not product people.”

Birkenstock’s management is seemingly unimpressed by such antics.

Not mincing words Baumann states, “If I put a bouncer outside our doors on Saturday and regulate letting people in, I too could have a queue outside.”

Ralph Lauren’s CMO on retelling its brand story to ‘reach the kid looking for Supreme’ | The Drum
“We've marketed those in a very bespoke, very direct way to newer audiences. We can market on one hand to someone who's been into the brand for 20, 30 years, who wore Polo Sport back in the 90s, but we can also market that product mix and that story to a younger kid who's looking for Supreme. - hype isn't only about media targeting yet according to this puff piece its all about digital media technology which is BS. It indicates a wider lack of focus there on craft, planning style insights, design, curation, the move to online 'drops' on certain collections

Will the Luxury Industry Pay the Price of Brexit? | Luxury Society
- a no-deal Brexit could cost Britain’s luxury goods industry up to 6.8 billion pounds per year. U.K. luxury exports to both the European Union and to Asia-Pacific would be dramatically reduced due to “detrimental changes to market access”
