Global/universal short-links for your Amazon content @ BookLinker
I've often thought this would be a good idea, but hadn't looked to see who did it. (One URL for a book, which redirects user to their country's Amazon.) I find it odd Amazon doesn't do it. Or have a single international page for a book.

Entertaining article about, which Amazon bought, then which woot's founder created next. All new to me. I like the event-ness and novelty. (via Metafilter)

Amazon unpacked -
From February 2013, on the poor-quality jobs Amazon is creating and the disappointment of many local people near their Rugeley warehouse. There is, though, something to be written about people disliking Amazon's working conditions and fondly remembering… coal mining. (via Dan W)

An Open Letter to E-Book Retailers: Let’s have a return to common sense | TeleRead
All sensible, and all things that have put me off ebooks. But mainly for: "If the button said ‘buy now’ and I clicked on it and I paid anything remotely resembling full retail price, I should *own* the book." Yes. Who has ever said, "I'm going to buy a license to read that book!"

I collected all the fiction mentioned in the Kottke and Marginal Revolution posts about "How would you survive if you travelled back to 1000AD?" and made them into an Amazon Listmania list.
