“What’s your name? I can’t keep calling you Balto.”

“What’s yours?”

“Stiles.”

Derek raises an eyebrow. That isn’t his real name. There’s no way. But now he thinks about it, he has a vague memory of someone, probably Uncle Peter, telling him that with the fae, names have power. “I’m Miguel,” he says.

“Lie.”

“Are you trying to tell me your real name is Stiles?”

Stiles runs his tongue across his teeth and considers Derek carefully. “Fair enough,” he says, “Miguel it is.”

Grabbing his groceries and pocketing the change, Derek turns to leave; he’s nearly at the door when Stiles calls out, “By the way, Miguel, if you’re interested, it’s two for one on bags of kibble at the pet store down the street.”

Derek doesn’t look back, doesn’t hesitate, just raises a hand and flips him off on the way out.

Moon's Notes: The fic that is mostly light-hearted and happy, and yet still bittersweet and sad. I smiled through tears, no lie. Stiles is a half-fae stuck in Beacon Hills as its replacement Nemeton/Guardian, he loves and loses everyone over time (Sheriff! ::sniff::) until he finally meets Derek and falls in love.

Meanwhile, Harry Dresden just wants some downtime to recuperate from breaking into Hades' vault and foiling Nicodemus's plans. But when a stranger named Sam Winchester turns up unexpectedly on Demonreach, and demons start going after Harry and his friends, Harry has to get on the case, and fast.

And Dean? Dean just wishes things would stop going to shit for one whole day. As if the Mark of Cain wasn't enough to deal with, now he's got an angel on one shoulder, a demon on the other, and a brother who's unexpectedly gone missing. Again.

In the Supernatural-verse, this story takes place just after S10E18, "Book of the Damned", and immediately goes AU. In the Dresdenverse, it takes place about two months after Skin Game, and attempts to stay reasonably within canon.

This fic mashes up the Sherlock ep "The Hounds of Baskerville" with ACD’s novel The Hound of the Baskervilles. Some plot points and some direct quotes from both are used throughout, but lots of changes as well. (You don’t need to have read any ACD for this to make sense, but hopefully it would add a layer of fun to it if you have.)

Moon's Notes: For a fic that's over 300,000 words long with not one sex scene, it's impressive how amazing this is... Ridiculous! Hilarious! And never ever boring! Lucy is an incredible character, in all respects, and I actually do sympathize with her frustration that everyone calls her Thor's sister just because she's Loki reincarnated. So what? She's a whole new person, yet nobody seems to respect her identity now. That's pretty douchey, when you think about it. No wonder I'm not a big fan of Amnesia fics - our memories are really all that make us who we are. Luckily this story is so awesome I'm going to keep reading anyway. ;)

Rodney McKay gets back from his unjust Siberia exile and takes a consulting gig that lets him work from home. He picks a random city, gets a cat, and starts cultivating his eccentricity.
His upstairs neighbor is an insanely hot guy whose cop uniform either means the obvious, or that his night job is a stripper. Rodney doesn't care which, he's busy becoming the old lady with the twitching lace curtains who watches everything. (And, yeah, thinking about what that strip routine might look like. Are those real handcuffs?)

John Sheppard quit the Air Force in a last-ditch attempt to save his marriage, since there was a kid on the way. It didn't work, and in fact backfired spectacularly, so now he's left with child support payments and a mortgage on a house he doesn't live in (his dad's a dick), an ex-wife who still loves him enough to yank more little bits out of his heart every chance she gets, a kid he gets to see for a few hours every other week, and a job where he gets shot at almost as much as the one he used to love that he quit. (He's a cop. He's okay at it. That's a hard adjustment to make.)
But at least his new downstairs neighbor is hilarious.

Moon's Notes: Pretty strange idea, but well-written and very intriguing. Set early seasons SG-1 and sort of post-Clone Wars? Idk, i don't follow the Star Wars fandom that closely but I still understood everything. Jedi are good snakes, and the Goa'uld are basically evil Sith without even knowing it. Lots of culture clashes, worldbuilding, great characterizations, and interesting insights. Also, I really enjoyed the use of Jack's perspective (snark!) and translation (he speaks Ancient!). There's a hefty amount already nicely written, no annoying cliffhangers.

Moon's Notes: Bearing in mind that I am only familiar with the Dresden Files and thus missed about 90% of the Night Vale in-jokes, this fic is still so witty and hilarious it kept me laughing for three days. I don't know if Dr. Julie Renegade is canon or an OC, but I adored everything she snarked. Harry Dresden and pretty much any other canon-Dresden character get only minor or passing roles (it's set post-Skin Game, btw, so Harry is the new Winter Knight) but this author's Carlos was definitely up to the task of carrying the story himself. Though between all the closed timelike curves and other Science! talk, some confusion was inevitable.

Moon's Notes: Very impressive, complex but surprisingly well-weaved plot. Multiple identities, time travel, Stargates and Quickenings, and yet the author still somehow managed to work out reasonable explanations without revealing Immortals. Nicely done!
