Dellamorte Dellamore (1994)
Wonderful workaday zombie-hunting, with Rupert Everett as the louche caretaker of a beautiful Italian cemetery. He can't save the horrible dialogue, though, and it all starts to unravel annoyingly towards the end. Pity.

Lundi Matin (2002)
A blankly-frustrated welder walks away from a mundane life in rural France to wander around Venice. Feels like two completely unconnected films, and that we don't really see any genuine perspective from him. Good range of pick-your-own metaphors, though.

"The organisers have negotiated discounts with museums, galleries, theatres, bars and restaurants for anyone who turns up between Friday and Sunday carrying a TV remote control." BBC4 documentary last night implied that this has become a regular event.
