Enigma machine / Tom MacWright / Observable
Love this live demo of an Enigma Machine that follows the passage of each letter's encryption through the circuits of rotors, reflector and pegboard. It's a visual abstraction, but it makes it entirely clear what's going on, from key to lamp.

And: it's an Observable notebook, so it's editable and interactive! Ace.

Tangle: a JavaScript library for reactive documents
OK, this is great: Bret Victor's library for exploring interactive documents. Tidy - thanks to its use of data-attributes - but super-clear. Really nice to have a web-based library, too, and one focused on text. Now thinking about this conceit again.

Introducing Playfic -
"My hope is that Playfic opens up the world of interactive fiction to a much wider audience — young writers, fanfic authors, and culture remixers of all ages." Which is always the audience Inform 7 felt like it was really branching out towards. Sometimes the way to make things accessible is to lower the cost of entry - and in that case, it means a webservice, rather than a downloadable app. Will be interested to see how Playfic develops.

The Single Lane Super Highway
"There are 1868 cars on the highway right now. You can watch them drive by, or draw your own and it will join the front of the line. Where are they going? The journey is yours." Progressive's annual report is done vy an artist each year; this year's is a lovely Aaron Koblin piece.

The Diver’s View - Interactive Feature -
"Thomas Finchum, an American diver competing in Beijing, describes the view from the 10-meter platform at the Water Cube." Incredible, interactive panorama from the top board in the Water Cube.
