Text analysis of Trump's tweets confirms he writes only the (angrier) Android half
"When Trump wishes the Olympic team good luck, he’s tweeting from his iPhone. When he’s insulting a rival, he’s usually tweeting from an Android. Is this an artifact showing which tweets are Trump’s own and which are by some handler?

The Knuckleball Mystique: Using PITCHf/x to Distinguish Perception from Reality - Baseball Prospectus
In this article, I want to focus on the common perception that the knuckleball does not follow a smooth trajectory between pitcher and batter but instead undergoes abrupt changes of direction. Indeed, it is not too difficult to find statements in the various media about the seemingly bizarre behavior of knuckleballs, such as claims that it “flutters” or “dances” or “zigs and zags” on its short trajectory to home plate.[...]

But do these claims have any basis in fact? To my knowledge, there have been no published quantitative studies of knuckleball trajectories by anyone, let alone those that verify the anecdotal claims.[...]

Within the precision of the tracking data, knuckleball trajectories are just as smooth as those of ordinary pitches.

Costs of Text Messaging vs. Space Transmissions
Need another reason to get angry at your next cell phone bill? Turn to Nigel Bannister, a space scientist at the University of Leicester in Britain, who has concluded that sending a mundane, ubiquitous text message costs at least four times as much as transmitting scientific data from the Hubble telescope. Here’s his math, from a news release, converted to dollars from British pounds:

Vintage Lester - Fire Brand of the American League
After a breakout 2008 campaign, Jon Lester hadn't seemed to find his groove early in 2009. Through his first two starts of the season, questions about his ability to avoid the "Verducci Effect" known to smite young pitchers coming off a season of above average workload were echoing across baseball blogs everywhere. [...] In the past, we would have to either (a) take Jon Lester on his words that he was throwing the ball as well as he wanted in his first two starts or (b) let our eyes and a line score convince us otherwise. Thanks to the world of data at our fingertips, or better yet through our browsers, we can now be more critical and calculating in our analysis of players self-review. Enter PitchFX.
