Edinburgh art festival review – a plodding, poor relation of the fringe | Guardian
"Ethical hand-wringing is not art". And hectoring, gatekeeping lectures about what is and isn't art aren't journalism, but what would I know. Good to see Summerhall get a positive shoutout though, and there are a couple of things on (fortunately, ones that Jonathan Jones considers 'art') that I'd like to see.

Today is the 20th anniversary of 1997. People did different things then, like watch Brass Eye on its original broadcast. Looks like I've missed the screening of this (and the York one), but there's still... um... Sheffield? Halifax?

Mad Friday part 2 | Manchester Evening News
The photographer who got that classic Renaissance shot last year has gone out on the town again. There is a gallery. I'm not sure whether he's some kind of genius savant, or whether people in Manchester just naturally fall over and/or drop things in perfect accord with the Golden Ratio.

Mental Floss Exclusive: Our Interview with Bill Watterson! | Mental Floss
Really disappointed with this. Watterson is more reclusive than a dead autistic Trappist, and somebody finally creates a major journalistic coup by getting an interview with him, and then they hand the interview over to the seventeen-year-old intern who has never read Terry Pratchett's rules for interviews. Bad form, Mental Floss. Nonetheless Watterson gives it his best shot regardless.
