Hermione is back at school after a summer in the Muggle world, and everything is changing. But getting closer to Harry doesn't get her any closer to the war - until she's unexpectedly enrolled in the Order of the Phoenix, and meets Hestia Jones, the founder of Mud Pride.

After the war, Harry Potter and Severus Snape hook up. A few years later (and for reasons that are, frankly, silly) Snape runs away to America and blocks anyone from England from finding him. Thus, Harry has to find an American wizard. What luck that there's one right there in Chicago.

“I’m going away for a little while.” A story where Harry leaves, and Snape doesn’t care. No really, he doesn’t.

A couple of years after Ginny dies due to complications from childbirth (of Lily), Harry moves himself and his children into Hogwarts in preparation for him teaching Muggle Studies. To absolutely everyone's surprise, Albus Severus takes a liking to Snape and, even more shocking, Snape finds himself taking a liking back. Complicating matters even more is Harry's increasingly odd behavior -- especially the fact that he no longer seems to be carrying a wand.

'Nocturne' is one of my favorite vampire stories in the Potter'verse. Engaging, long, and void of the normal vampire cliches, it features a post-war life for Harry and Severus that is bleak, lonely, and a touch sad. That is, until they find one another and everything (slowly) changes.

Harry's health began to decline after the war and two years later he spends most of his time either asleep or exhausted to the point of near unconsciousness. Unexpectedly, it appears that Severus Snape may have something to do with his condition.

A few years after the war, Harry gets hexed with a nasty skin-eating curse and there are only a handful of potion masters in the world who can brew the cure. Guess which one Harry asks first.

After the war, Snape is sentenced to house arrest. With Harry Potter (presumably as punishment for Harry arguing to have Snape released). Four years later, the story begins.

After getting his ass handed to him in a Knockturn Alley duel, Harry decides he needs to learn how to make his own (more powerful) spells. Unfortunately, the only person he knows who has this ability is Snape and Harry's relationship with Severus Snape isn't one that allows for favors. The Half-Blood Prince, on the other hand...

He's in there again, and I don't know what to do.

Post-death-of-Voldemort, Snape is discovered to not be dead, but in a coma. A couple of weeks later, a mysterious cure comes from Dubmledore (beyond the grave, no less) that manages to wake Snape up. Unfortunately (or not, depending on your perspective) Snape doesn't quite wake up his old 38-year-old self.

Snape (nearly) dies in book seven and wakes up in a hall full of doors, each one leading to a possible timeline if only he had...

The looong (over two years) shift in Harry and Severus's relationship from furious adversaries to tentative allies.

Draco manages to botch a love potion, which ends up affecting Harry and Severus instead (natch). Some surprisingly (but very welcome) realistic romance ensues.

Some indefinite time after the war, Snape asks Harry to help translate a parchment that seems to have Parceltounge symbols on it. Over the months of ensuing research, romance blossoms.

After the war, Snape is put on trial for murdering Dumbledore. Harry comes to his defense and, as a result, Snape is sentenced to five years. With Harry. Whee!

For reasons that don't need explaining here (but are explained in the book), twenty years after the war Harry finds Snape in suspended animation. He's still alive, but he thinks he's seventeen. It's up to Harry to keep an eye on him until Snape's memories return.

In the midst of a knock-down, drag-out fight (heh), Harry and Snape find a baby. In a trash can. So of course they do the logical thing and take it home like a stray kitten.

After the war, Harry is in a coma. As a result, because there is no one to speak for him, Snape is sentenced to twenty years hard labor. After five years, someone buys him.

Harry gets his hands on Slytherin's locket, but gold is not all he finds. In a desperate bid to gain crucial information, Harry attempts to play the player, with unpredictable results.

Harry is a martyr. Everyone uses him. His life sucks. Love is evil. Fortunately for all, including the reader, Snape isn't about to put up with this self-pity nonsense.

Voldemort is gone, but Lucius Malfoy is still at large and has declared revenge on Harry and Snape. Of course, the only solution to the problem is to lock Harry and Severus into the same house for an indefinite period of time with nothing to do. Guess what happens next.

Ten years after the war is over, Harry owns a Muggle flower shop with Neville) that carries a few unique ingredients along with he usual bouquets.

After defeating Voldemort and spending some time as an Auror, Harry gets fed up and becomes a reculse at Godric's Hollow. One dark and stormy night, Severus Snape shows up at his door, starved, frozen, and half-dead from various curses. Harry nurses him back to health, but that is just the beginning of Snape's problems in the wizarding world.

After defeating Voldemort, Harry asks Snape to dinner as a thank you for saving his life. A week later, Snape issues his own invitation and suddenly, before Harry realizes it, they are dating.

Another teacher's interest in Harry Potter forces a reluctant Snape to compete for the young man affections.

Snape can't inherit Prince Manor unless he gets married within a month. Coincidentally enough, Harry has a little, er, *problem* that can only be cured by a massively complicated potion that only Severus is good enough to make. The solution? Marriage of course! If only Harry had bothered to ask if there was such a thing as divorce in the wizarding world...

After killing Voldemort, Harry buys a wizarding mansion and promptly finds himself doing battle with an aggressively unpleasant house. Meanwhile, the remaining death eaters find out that Severus is a traitor. Dumbledore's solution? Ship Severus off to Harry's house, of course! At least Harry will have some help dealing with the vampire gnats...

Harry has a simple spell to guarantee Snape's loyalty. Naturally, he makes a mess of it.

Several years post-war, Dumbledore dies peacefully in his sleep. In his will he leaves his family estate to both Harry and Severus, with a proviso that if the two of them can't agree on what to do with the house the one who wants to sell will have to court the one who wants to keep it. Of course, they don't agree, and thus begins one of the sweetest, most romantic marriage of convenience fics ever written.

After Harry defeats Voldemort, Severus is sentenced to ten years in Azkaban for his accumulated Death Eater activites. His only visitor is Harry, who first comes to vent his residual anger over Dumbledore's death.

During the final battle against Voldemort, Harry is very nearly killed. In fact, the only thing that saves him is Severus, who uses a spell to share his own life force with Harry. Unfortunately, neither Severus nor Harry nor anyone else for that matter knows exactly what the spell will entail in the long run.

When Harry Polyjuices into Snape, he finds out more about the Potions master than he ever dreamed.

A Potions accident creates a blood bond between Harry and Snape.

After a spell backfires, Harry must take the train back to Hogwarts with Snape.

When Voldemort makes plans involving a sort of virgin sacrifice, drastic measures must be taken.

Even in Wizardom, death is permanent…except when it's not.

After defeating Voldemort, Harry ends up returning to Hogwarts as the assistant Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher. Who has taken over the previously cursed position? Why Severus, of course, who is handling DADA *and* potions while simultaneously recovering from a near-death encounter with Lucius Malfoy at the end of the war. No one mentions a time-turner, but I think it's implied.

Severus Snape is happy with his life as an organic chemistry professor, though it is a bit busy. So busy, in fact, that he decides to hire a lab assistant. Oddly enough, only one person applies for a job, and the handsome green-eyed applicant is strangely familiar...

At some point in his seventh year (I think), Harry gets captured by Voldemort and is inadvertently turned into a baby in the ensuing duel. Severus breaks cover to rescue Harry and bring him back to Hogwarts. Now that Harry is helpless and Severus is the target of every Death Eater in Great Britain, Dumbledore bundles them up and sends them both to a safe house indefinitely. Bad enough that Severus finds himself taking care of an infant; things get exponentionally worse as Harry starts to grow up much faster than he should.

After defeating Voldemort...Harry goes off to fight dragons in...well, somewhere that isn't England. He comes back to find that all Death Eaters have been executed except for Severus, who has been blessed/cursed with a visible magical aura that protects him from any form of attack (or, you know, any physical contact at all), but which also prevents him from using anything but the most minor forms of magic. Unable to find work in the Muggle world due to the aura and barely able to scrape by in the wizarding world, Severus reluctantly agrees to share lodging with Harry as Harry attempts to sort out his own life. If only they could get rid of that damn curse.

For reasons that don't need exploring at this juncture, Harry and Snape find themselves accompanying a vampire from England to Romania. By train. With several pit stops (and isn't it amazing how all these hotels only have rooms with just one bed).

After Voldemort's death, everyone wearing a Death Mark lost their magic. Most were sent to Azkaban regardless, but a cleared Severus Snape disappeared. Three years later, Harry finds his own magic has mostly drained away (thanks to The Scar), and in desperation he tracks Snape down. At a diner. In Arizona. Where Snape has posted 'No Talking' and 'No Unruly Children' rules, hired a bunch of ex-cons, banned menus, and otherwise proceeded to be totally and completely awesome. Utterly lost and without any other options, Harry stays and tries to come to terms with the loss of his magic and, just maybe, find a more prosaic, but no less beautiful, magic in the world around him.

Twenty years after book seven, a recently divorced Harry finally makes his way to Snape's tomb to pay his last respects, only to find that Snape's not quite as dead as everyone had thought. Unfortunately, he's also not in his own body either, though the small wooden box currently housing his soul is rather fetching.

Written pre-Book 7. In this possible outcome to the war Harry manages to defeat Voldemort, but at terrible cost to himself and to those around him. The wizarding world holds one hell of a grudge and, unable to take their relentless anger, Harry locks himself away in a Muggle mansion with only the occasional visit from Snape (delivering healing potions) and and endless stream of Howlers to connect him to the outside world. While Harry is healing physically, emotionally he is still in pieces, at least until he starts getting letters from an anonymous supporter. But will they be enough?

Cautious Snape sleeps with his wand under his pillow and wakes to unexpected results. Written for SSFF Third Wave.
