Graduation (aka “Final Graduation”)
Shortly after the events of “Harbinger”, Trip is killed, irrevocably changing the way the Xindi mission unfolds, though it still “succeeds”. Consumed by grief and resentment towards what he considers an avoidable tragedy, Malcolm spends the rest of his life devoted to changing the system inside Starfleet, so that the mistakes that led to Trip’s death will not be repeated.

Miscommunication by Ragua (PG-13)
To show T'Pol he understands (or at least tries to) and appreciates her culture, Trip decides to surprise her by learning Vulcan and swears Hoshi, his teacher, to secrecy. This of course leads to chaos: the whole crew (and a very jealous T'Pol is included) seems to think the Linguist and the Chief Engineer are romantically involved. It isn't until a dangerous away mission that true feelings (and linguistic capabilities) are revealed.
