Young couple swing dancing in the 1940s. - Imgur
So many interesting things in this photo. The black kid right in the center, looking completely at home and overjoyed. The one creepy guy on the left looking directly at the upside down girl's crotch. The upside down girl with her skirt not preserving any modesty. The black girl looking so concerned at the other girl's crotch.

Joseph Frank Keaton - Album on Imgur
Amazing feats performed by Buster Keaton (Joseph Frank Keaton) before CGI and stuntmen. These death-defying stunts cut so close there would be no opportunity for second takes or screwups.

The gym on the Titanic was full of Edwardian ladies and electric horses
Look at that gorgeous, clean design. Not like today where everything is crammed in trying to use every last inch. Also, the walls are simultaneously clean, but ornate the large panels.

This 1969 German swimming pool. : creepy
Awesome retro swimming pool. When things were lovingly crafted instead of being cost-driven.

1969: Woodstock fashion
What I'm struck by as I look at these pictures is that the fattest guy (if you can even call him that) in these pictures is what the average person looks like nowadays. Most of the people photographed are skinny and there's that one guy who is completely ripped (though thin.) There's no way you can tell me that people's eating habits have changed (i.e. they're gorging now when they used to exercise self-control) -- this is all because of processed food!

▶ b bumble the stingers bumble boogie YouTube - YouTube
There might be better audio versions of this, but the dancing made me bookmark this one.

UPDATE: This one was taken down, so I updated the URL with a new, working URL. The only problem is that the video on this one looks like it has been downloaded and uploaded 20 times - and this is the only version left on YouTube.

Backed up to \media\video\YouTube & Internet backups.

In a worst case scenario, since I have also backed up Hellzapoppin, the movie that the dance scene came from, I can take this audio and combine it with the dance scene.

(2) Ido Portal - Clowns are great movers. Yes, you read it right.... Larry Griswold
That "comedy" act is actually an incredible display of movement. ................ "Clowns are great movers. Yes, you read it right. Most of them have amazing acrobatic ability, they can dance, express, they posses out-of-this-world crashing and breakfalling skills and more. I think that a person that takes his inspiration mostly from within the field he is immersed in, just... repackages. I try to get my inspiration as much as possible from outside of my own realm and definitely avoid a lot in the surrounding 'fitness industry'. Some of the biggest inspiration I get are from: * Clowns, Mimes and other Physical Comedians * Animals * Painters during painting * Drunks (spending a few months out of the year in Berlin helps with the last one) * Fighters and martial artists * Dancers"

Photo taken during the construction of the Brooklyn Bridge shows gentlemen (in suits and bowler hats!) just hanging on a grid of wires that would end up being the suspension cables. .......... The reddit thread: http://www.reddit.com/r/pics/comments/1dhjo3/taken_during_the_construction_of_the_brooklyn/ which mentions that the photo was "used as the album cover to a minimalist piece called "New York Counterpoint" by Steve Reich. Staplers, the Attachment That’s Still Making Noise - NYTimes.com
marketing = After the first few paragraphs, they mention the old ads that went into creating the stapler industry. startups-going-above-and-beyond = But Mr. Keller knows full well that computers will continue to eat into the business; that’s why Acco is aggressively expanding into global markets where technology is not as entrenched.

Google60 – Search Mad Men Style
A search engine that wraps around Google Search and makes it look like you are searching using old-style punch cards. Slow as hell, but sort of charming.

fashion = I like the clothes, especially the guy on the left in #9. Short, tapered pans and large shoes.

weird, bizarre, oddities = #4, E. Falleni - a woman who lived as a man, married a real woman and killed her when it seemed she had found out her secret. Then she was found out to be a woman.
