What Would You Give Up For World Peace? : 13.7: Cosmos And Culture : NPR
{hive-mind} "In our early past, in our still-biological past, 15,000 years ago we were hunter gatherers. We showed group cohesiveness and discrimination against other groups. It was adaptive. It was quite understandable that we evolved traits of group recognition, and making sure we recognized foreigners. This is my conviction that this is probably the early basis for our unfortunate xenophobic behavior that is still in us. It's a behavior that is now terribly maladaptive." ................... Lawrence Lessig: Don't Want Another SOPA? Get Money out of Politics
"To Lessig, upending this system is the only way for the people to reclaim American democracy and fight for what they believe in — whether that’s a free and open Internet, a solution to climate change or an end to military conflicts."

Four Things I Learned from Coaching 'Poor Black Kids' - Forbes
See "Noble Truth #3" on page 2:
"If there’s any generalization we can make about “kids,” it’s that over the millennia they tend to take their cues from adults. And when the adults in their midst support sports over debate, pop music over great books, polarizing opinion over deep critical inquiry, you can guess the result."

Change The Schools, Change The World : A Miracle A Day
I believe that a lot of the negative things in the U.S. and in the world come from the fact that children are no longer taught how to be an adult. One of my passions is to build an alternate school system in the U.S. that actually teaches kids the things they will really need one day: money management, debate, SELLING themselves, being remarkable, NOT waiting to be told what to do.
