A lot of people who make over $350,000 are about to get replaced by software
I had this idea at least 15 years ago, when I thought it would be awesome to write a program that would just analyze data and see how and why stocks go up and down. I specifically thought about how it should look at news clippings and other human events and calculate how the stocks reacted to them. This idea came from when I was reading the book about day trading and red about Japanese Candlestick charts.

What is Usury? | 10 Percent Is Enough
Usury is the practice of overcharging borrowers. It has been prohibited by religious, legal, moral, and social codes since the beginning of recorded human history. Both the Hebrew Bible and the Qu’ran are unequivocal in their condemnation of high interest rates and the people who charge them. At the founding of America, interest rates in all 13 original states were capped at 6%. In fact, usury was illegal in the United States until 1978. But now, just 30 years later, it is rampant. Modern forms of usury include: payday loans, adjustable rate mortagages, rapid rebate tax return companies,

Elizabeth Warren Brings Consumer Cause to Cape - HispanicBusiness.com
This chick is shaking shit up. I hope she can make a difference. " "How do Fortune 500 companies pay zero in taxes while college loans go up to 6 percent?" she asked. "This game is rigged.""

Kevin Slavin: How algorithms shape our world | Video on TED.com
artificial-intelligence = Leading up to 6:00 he talks about how the stock market is all algorithms and how we've started down the road of building things that we no longer understand how they work. Reminds me of that evolvable hardware article I read a while back.

Found this post back in March 2008. Curious to see how it turns out.

He mentions 2 resources:
A book and a 42 minute video that I want to follow up on and read.

YouTube - Mad Avenue Blues
"Following on the success of the Wall Street Meltdown parodies, I wrote Mad Avenue Blues. Like Wall Street Meltdown and WSM Redux (both on YouTube), the new video takes a popular song and substitutes industry-specific lyrics. Only instead of finance, Mad Avenue Blues is about the media/advertising world and the impact to the traditional models brought about by the accelerating migration to digital.
Sung to Don McLean's "American Pie", this 19 stanza song was written and produced in just one day. I did this so that I could answer those who respond to my video projects with the knee-jerk "you obviously have too much time on your hands"."
