Jason Todd stood next to the workbench, a scowl deepening on his face with every passing second. The parts of a disassembled grappling hook and a set of tools were strewn across the table surface and Tim held out the notebook toward Jason.

tumdrake: jason, on the other hand, will still do everything he normally does even if he is very, very ill. one time early patrol bruce was just going over protocol and plans and jason just passed the fuck out. just a big -thump- and he was on the ground in a gross, sweaty pile once someone managed to take his helmet off and see how awful he looked.

The loud thud takes Bruce by surprise. So he feels no guilt for the way his head snaps up, immediately scanning the room. Nothing on the outside edges of the Cave; Dick, Tim, and Damian are all in the same places they were when the briefing started...except now, all of them are staring at the floor. And that's when Bruce suddenly remembers that all four of his sons were here tonight.
He leans forward, half over the table. Jason is crumpled on his side on the floor, his limbs curled awkwardly beneath himself and his head dangling, the top of his helmet barely touching the ground.

"I-" Hate you, is what Jason intends to say. He's loopy as hell and whatever he's been shot up with is making it hard to think and even harder to stand. He knew prison was a bad idea, once word got out (and word always did in Gotham) that the Red Hood was behind bars it was only a matter of time before Jason found himself in some serious trouble. Serious trouble like being busted out of prison and drugged to the gills (which he didn't have, Jason wasn't Atlantean) with some sort of new-age poison/truth serum combo. "Love you guys." Jason is in Dick's arms (Dick is the skinnier Batman, the friendlier one, Bruce is the one hovering in the shadows like he can't choose whether to come closer or not, same old Bruce) and he can't back pedal fast enough from what he just said.

Snippet: A Sennight Strove Ye - Sturdy and Serviceable
It's a stupid thing to worry about, but Tim wishes he knew whether they're planning to make him soil himself as part of a humiliation attempt, or whether they're just thoughtless. The ache in his bladder and the ache in his shoulders are competing for his attention and it's hard to ignore them with his sight limited in the dark, and the crypt so silent.

Actually, he's starting to think there might be a faintly lighter spot at the far right hand corner of his vision. And even as he lets himself think it, the light starts to grow, as if a door was opening, and there's a sound. Not like someone walking or attempting to move silently, but like someone running lightly and then a controlled tumble.
