Jann Wenner - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
so this person is the editor of Rolling Stone, which just decided to endorse Hillary Clinton (putting exactly zero compelling/new arguments forward, and blissfully ignoring real issues/questions)

one of the comments characterizes it succinctly as a 70-year-old businessman / media mogul 'with a private jet endorses Hillary? Shocking'

tangential but I think also fairly important is to know about the Hootie & the Blowfish kerfuffle in which he was involved (pinned here)

Why trying to help poor countries might actually hurt them - The Washington Post
"The United States gave aid to Ethiopia for decades under then-President Meles Zenawi Asres, because he opposed Islamic fundamentalism and Ethiopia was so poor. Never mind that Asres was 'one of the most repressive and autocratic dictators in Africa'"

Becoming Bernie
really nice read... really glad this/he exists

the least important fact (but one that sticks out in my mind) is that his older brother is "Larry Sanders."  vermont  history  politics  politician  mayor  senator  burlington  bernie_sanders  brooklyn  independence  nyc  poverty  profile  writing  vermont_public_radio  1950s  1960s  1970s  1980s  1990s  2000s  2010s  2015  america  high_school  chicago  university  university_of_chicago  dissent  student  life  biography  independent  controversy  policy  law
