Swatch Internet Time - Wikipedia
"Instead of hours and minutes, the mean solar day is divided into 1000 parts called ".beats". Each .beat is equal to one decimal minute in the French Revolutionary decimal time system and lasts 1 minute and 26.4 seconds (86.4 seconds) in standard time. Times are notated as a 3-digit number out of 1000 after midnight. So, @248 would indicate a time 248 .beats after midnight representing 248/1000 of a day, just over 5 hours and 57 minutes.

"There are no time zones in Swatch Internet Time; instead, the new time scale of Biel Meantime (BMT) is used, based on Swatch's headquarters in Biel, Switzerland and equivalent to Central European Time, West Africa Time, and UTC+01. Unlike civil time in Switzerland and many other countries, Swatch Internet Time does not observe daylight saving time."

B*Witched - C'est la vie - YouTube
"The music video for the song was directed by Alison Murray, who later also directed the UK video for 'Rollercoaster'. It begins with the four girls lying on the ground in a field of daisies on a sunny day. A dog is introduced into the clip next to one of the girls and the quartet then begin dancing and singing to a teenage boy in a treehouse. The girls then tie the boy to a tree and the dog chases toward him before he is magically bombarded with lipstick kiss marks all over his face. The boy is freed from the tree and the girls hose him with water and begin performing an Irish reel before lying back down in the field where they began."

Who Was the Baby on Aaliyah’s “Are You That Somebody?” > Red Bull Music Academy
"He once skidded a car near some condenser mics, then went to a junkyard in Brooklyn and lifted a trashed vehicle on a magnetic crane and dropped it on a pile of headlights and headlamps; he then spliced the skidding and the junkyard drop together to make a car crash effect. He captured barnyard sounds from a live poultry market that used to operate where the Lincoln Center now stands. Shel Silverstein, who lived right around the corner from Goldbaum in the Village, actually played a role in his recordings, too: As Goldbaum recounts, “I just handed him the microphone and said, ‘Be a sheep,’ and he’d be a perfect sheep.”
"Goldbaum goes on to talk about all the various human sounds he recorded, going into people’s houses to record their laughs and cries, their burps and sneezes, their yawns and snores, their horrified screams and birthday parties."

Keep the Things You Forgot: An Elliott Smith Oral History | Pitchfork
"It took a long time for him to develop a love-hate relationship with the press room. So he would tell me a list of fanzines that he wished some day would interview him, and then we’d see if we could make it happen. That was such a different time in the music industry. There was no internet; fanzines were our internet—and using the post office was our information superhighway, I guess. [laughs]

"Because we were friends, he was able to tell me what he was and wasn't comfortable with. The more attention he got, the more troubled he got, and that’s when it got hard. The irony of it was that he was so open and honest with pretty much anybody who crossed his path, so it wasn't unlike him to tell a very personal, private story to a virtual stranger sitting next to him at a bar.

"But it would infuriate him when people asked him what his lyrics were about. He really hated having to have an answer for what every character and every story was. Music was a way of channeling thoughts and feelings that were bigger than him into art, and he didn’t feel like he owed every single person an explanation of what everything was about."
