So, using lasers to fuse deuterium over a pusher plate/bell nozzle,which is lined with uranium to heat up from neutron capture, which heats coolant, which runs to a turbogenerator, which powers the laser. So sorta pulse like, sorta orion-lite? It's not your typical fusion-fission hybrid setup. The implication is that this could be used as a nuclear jet engine the atmosphere (ejector ramjet entrainment maybe)?!?

Chinese followon to marine ramjet research. Seems just compressed air is not enough to to do a standing start for a marine ramjet (similar issue for conventional ramjets), so they basically spliced in an underwater ramjet into the output of a jetski waterjet to overcome standing start issues. Which makes it a kind of supercharged ramjet?!? They used an air tank at 4 bar output, so a production augmented nozzle for jetskis would combine exhaust with an oversized turbocharger's wastegate output as inputs for the marine ramjet.

An underwater ramjet, but really kind of a jet pump/ejector ramjet? Substituting expansion of overcompressed air or a compressed liquid refrigerant (so pressure drop expansion or liquid to gas boiling expansion) injection for a conventional combustion chamber in a ramjet. If one gets enough momentum from the injection to to do a standing start, then it gets pretty simple for a ramjet. One of the patents from this seems to show a pod version and a long blade version, that uses 2D ramjets embedded in the blade. Ultimate, you need some sort of high pressure gas source, either compressed gas, liquid boiling into a gas, or a gas generator. I wonder if this can be mixed with a supercavitation drag reduction system like a skival torpedo, supercavitating the ramjet pod exterior from the same gas generator flow?

I guess you use a wirefeed to feed in the aluminum wire/rod at the thruster core? Consumes oxygen gas, aluminum wire, and helium buffer gas (how much?)

ULTRAMET - Advanced Materials Solutions
Apparently involved with a new high temp noise suppression foam made from hafnium carbide/silicon carbide that ca be stuffed directly into a combustor to provide combustion noise suppression. The foam has high permeability, allowing gases and combustion to move freely, and the structure helps to create uniform combustion. Though I can't imagine this being useful for any high speed gas /liquid fuel combustors/engines, but the press releases talked about jet engines so maybe it actually can?

Lithium Lorentz Force Accelerator Research
Oddball electric thruster whose operating mechanic isn't fully understood. Seems to be able to use both the electric and magnetic fields at the same time for better efficiency, and so far it seems to be power limited as far as scaling goes (but something about 50% efficiency in context, so where does the rest of energy go? heat?)
