Interesting research on creating the opposite of a laser, a sort of antilaser. A loss medium basically disrupts a laser, which had been amplified in a gain medium. Demo is near IR. I think this is implying using piezoelectric setup, where an acoustic wave wiggles the material, creating imbalances to collect solar PV charges (rather than inherent doped electrons and holes like normal solar cells), which get hauled over to electrodes. I don't think this is implying something like thermoacoustic piezoelectric generators...

Ok, they can make spheres of the oddball stuff, but what about sheets? If they can't make sheets (which I would think would be hard when doing solution based nucleation) then the usefulness of this will be for a more niche market, unless you do other composite tricks.
