Notable here is the determination that you can cheat the trajectory to favor a higher altitude initial vertical boost, take the gravity loss hit during a cold coast to the second beam director LoS, then have a longer second stage beamed thermal burn. Allegedly 3x payload compared to a UAV air drop launch to a single beam director site?

But how does a common microwave beam work here for first and second stages? Is the first beaming site only a pulsed microwave system? Does microwave PDE even work with continuous wave microwaves?

Uses piston top-dead-center compression effects and a "spark" (external neutron source, like an ADSR particle accelerator neutron spallation target, or some sort of cylinder wall embedded neutron source). Wonder if LiquidPiston reverse wankel would also work well here. Negative void coefficient is nice too.

So sorta pulse like, sorta orion-lite? It's not your typical fusion-fission hybrid setup. The implication is that this could be used as a nuclear jet engine the atmosphere (ejector ramjet entrainment maybe)?!?

Possible to use ultrashort pulse lasers to manipulate refractive indexes in something like diamond, such that you create artificial event horizons and a resonant cavity, allowing the replication of a resonant cavity between black/white hole event horizons. While this is theoretical, based on certain models, the proposed methodology appears to be feasible for experimentation now, using grown artificial diamond waveguides as an experiment start point.

Interesting continuous wave detonation engine design. Basically you have a shockwave running around in circles (well, a spiral of sorts) in an open ended annular space, with careful injection of propellant just before the wave arrives at a particular point in the injector ring on one end. Similar to a PDE engine, in that you need high speed pulsed injection just before the detonation wave arrives on the ring, and you have this spiral output that resembles a PDE pulse output.

The Pulse Combustion Tesla Turbine
Okay, this is a little weird, but potentially interesting as a high rpm motor. You have a pulsejet combustion chamber feeding a tesla turbine to extract power. Since the pulsejet is a PDE, and thus shockwave based, you potentially have near complete combustion without having a precompressor. Hrm, I wonder if a RamGen engine could feed it's disk's exhaust into a counterrotating coaxial tesla turbine for secondary power extraction (the tesla turbine could be direct geared to counterrotate with the disk rotor since the tesla turbine should be able to rotate at the same kind of speeds)?

Instead of the military dumping sonobuoys from planes to communicate with subs, this would potentially allow a plane to fire a laser directly into the water, causing a local underwater steam explosion pulse that could be modulated to provide one way acoustic communication to subs at depth, at a much higher datarate than VLF/ULF/ELF radio communication, at least within a local environment. Problem is, doing so could potentially violate OpSec since you give away the fact that a friendly sub is within earshot of the laser bubbles, which isn't that far.
