Impaired Decision Making in Conference Rooms - GIGA循绿
Wait this says 3 people just sitting quietly in a room for 1 hour have impaired cognitive function due to CO2! ASHRAE limit is 1000ppm, these guys suggest 1400ppm is the line for cognitive impairment.

Associations of Cognitive Function Scores with Carbon Dioxide, Ventilation, and Volatile Organic Compound Exposures in Office Workers: A Controlled Exposure Study of Green and Conventional Office Environments

Why are conversations limited to about four people? A theoretical exploration of the conversation size constraint - ScienceDirect
Which might suggest freeform conversations in meetings only really work well at 4 or less people, or else you have the ritual/social equivalent of a conch token to control speakers (which effectively cuts speaker count to compensate). The take that you are effectively tracking potentially 8 "endpoints" also suggests some connection with memory limits (you generally can handle 7 things simultaneously, maybe don't count yourself?)

HearInsights
Some kind of phone call transcription service. Not entirely clear if fully automated. Use them by calling a number for a normal meeting, I guess conference call them for phone call transcription?

domo! Serendipity made real
A sort of AR/LBS mobile social web hybrid app/service, buzzing you if people with similar facebook interests are nearby, allowing you to introduce yourself. It's being described as a "presocial" app/service so you can meet potentially compatible strangers. I wonder when some dating service and/or a loose alliance of services hops onboard this one...

Seth's Blog: Reinventing the conference call
He's suggesting a multimedia conferencing solution to improve communication. Which makes sense, considering there is the analog of the academic conference seminar with matching IRC room where attendees discuss and lampoon the speaker. I wonder if you could implement this directly via VoIP services? SIP (or should I say SIMPLE) in theory supports a form of inline chatting, provided the end client supports it. I suppose if you were really pushing for it, force the conference participants to use SIP clients exclusively, cutting out those expensive analog teleconference support services since all the audio is VoIP.
