The TRISO pebbles are immobilized inside the thick walls of a graphite tube with graphite powder, but one would worry about TRISO pebble shifting/settling within the powder area.

Indian Navy plans to go green by setting up ocean thermal energy plant at Andaman & Nicobar Islands - The Economic Times
Interesting, DCNS is heading this project. What about the indigenous OTEC work India was already pursuing (well, before their disasterous cold water pipe drop...). If they succeed, this may be of interest to the British (Diego Garcia) and the US Navy (Guam).

Hero's 2WD diesel-electric RNT radically rethinks the motorcycle as an all-purpose utility vehicle
Interesting series hybrid diesel scooter, with 230V takeoff for use as a portable power generator as well. This is actually pretty smart for the target market of third world countries and semi-offroad rural conditions. Stuff a hub motor in the front to make it 2WD/AWD too.

The first bulk nanostructured metal - IOPscience
New potentially low cost nanostructed bainitic steel, but requires cooking in an oven for 10 days at 200C, so the flash bainite guys may still have an edge in production speed and cost. Unfortunately no welding, so only single piece forgings like shafts, plates/rolls, bearings and the like.

India Gov't To Load Critical Data To The Cloud - Forbes
India planning on making the direct leap to cloud services, leapfrogging intermediary government models/services/operations methodologies. Considering the current epic government ID drive, and the dispersal of cellular telephone infrastructure, as fixed line infrastructure rollout costs are simply too high at the moment, this may have legs.

Why a Buddhist monk from Japan is studying MBA at ISB, Hyderabad | - India's biggest website for MBA in India, International MBA, CAT, XAT, SNAP, MAT
There's the subtle thing you need to read between the lines here. Most temples in japan are operated as tax free religious organizations, and make a killing on ceremony fees and donations. The temple manager, AKA head monk, and his family typically live very well if the temple is moderately popular. Thus the finance angle, as money (?mis)management becomes key.

DESERTEC-Australia | Clean Power From Deserts | Welcome to DESERTEC-Australia
Seems these guys are proposing a supergrid style tie-in of a DESERTEC setup in the Australian outback to markets in SE Asia, India, and China, piggybacking on natural gas pipeline infrastructure and possibly augmented by offshore wind (likely at convenient transformer substation rigs and LNG/methane recompressors). (Interesting that they don't make the jump between Japan and China, I wonder why...)

Supercomputer as a service
A Tata group company does a supercomputer rental service. A supercomputer HPC platform as a service basically. Which is the interesting alternative to just spinning up an obscene number of EC2 instances. EC2 is good for certain types of cluster and parallel computing, but I imagine there are classes of problems where the internode communication lag becomes a critical factor that you can't abstract away on the amazon EC2 platform.

The obvious drawback being you have to customize your code to run on the supercomputer platform, but I imagine some of the grid computing frameworks like Globus may help here.
