A Dusty Plasma Based Fission Fragment Nuclear Reactor/Rocket - ppt video online download
Uses nano particles of fuel, so works sorta like a gas reactor but with less headaches in theory...

On the Use of a Pulsed Nuclear Thermal Rocket for Interplanetary Travel | 52nd AIAA/SAE/ASEE Joint Propulsion Conference
Fission pulses do neutron heating of hydrogen propellant to plasma conditions, but you need to liquid metal cool the fuel. Neat result is propellant can get hotter than the fuel due to neutron flux. Though a NTER strikes me as easier to implement...

FALCON reactor-pumped laser description and program overview (Conference) | SciTech Connect
This is circa 1989-1991, and seems to feel a single laser/reactor complex can get to 100MW and have higher efficiency. Though beam quality will be an issue due to gas gain medium.

A fusion-fission implementation of the hybrid molten salt reactor (HMSR)
Uh, so this appears to be a single fluid fuel salt MSR (subcritical?) paired with a fusion reactor using the MSR fuel salt as a fertile blanket salt. So in some ways similar to an ADSR.

Fission-free Fusion Explosion by Chemical First Stage
Physicist seems to have found a way to achieve a fusion/hydrogen bomb with basically no fallout (a bang, x-rays, and gamma rays). Using a boron laced HMX chemical explosive sphere imploding on a liquid deuterium-tritium core, you can theoretically achieve 1000x gain over the conventional explosive (assuming a 30cm sphere yielding a 25 ton explosion. Not big on the atomic bomb scale in terms of gain factor or raw explosive power, but the no fallout part is kinda attractive from certain applications, such as Project Orion or Medusa class space propulsion.

Laser_induced_fission_of_Th.pdf (application/pdf Object)
A variation on the accelerator driven thorium system theme, with a laser induced plasma pumping electrons into a tantalum target, dumping gamma (X-ray) into thorium. Rather than a traditional ADSR which fires electrons into a target for neutron spallation into thorium.

Sandia's In-Zinerator Concept For Transmuting Unburned Nuclear Fuel
Interesting fusion/fission hybrid reactor to transmute light water reactor unburnt fuel waste, which could be more attractive than using fast reactors to reduce the waste.
