DriveScale - Leader in Software Composable Infrastructure
Pushing for diskless blades and JBOD's in a rack, linked together by 100Gbit ethernet in a composable fabric, with endgame being NVMe over fabric. Sorta like resurrecting ATAoE... Which wasn't a bad idea per se...

Power Pwn (Pre-order) | Pwnie Express
Appears to use a SheevaPlug for internals. Evil little beastie for pentesting, but I kinda doubt you can get some employee to pick one up in a parking lot and plug it into the corporate network, especially since it has a suspicious form factor/weight for a found object. But, send it in a nice box t someone, and they will probably plug it right in...

Dualcomm Technology - USB Powered 5-Port 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet Switch with Port Mirroring and PoE Pass-Through
A semi-portable USB powered gigabit switch with port mirroring for sniffing a live connection. Still needs a separate network card for the actual packet capture (I suppose you could use the normal laptop network port...)

The OpenFlow Switch Consortium
Taking a cue from software defined radios, there's an effort to allow software to muck with the firmware internals of routers, to try experimental protocols and to be more adaptive to traffic flow. Software defined network, as one person put.
