Interesting, using 2 xis gymbal for each rotor stack so have full 6 DoF all the time (aside from gymbal-lock scenarios). Should allow high agility, and potentially allowing the body to go vertical.

might have some coanda effect from the fuselage/duct lip?

I would have expected larger rotors, more like one of those human powered helicopters. With the low pressure, you need hugely long rotors.

This appears to be a reimplementation the keyence revolutor mechanism for swashplateless rotor blade pitch control via motor pulse shifting.

Looks like a semi-hot cycle helicopter, but instead of a potentially more complicated tip jet drive, it appears to use dual contra rotating direct drive turbines to spin the rotors, exhausting into the inter-disk area of the rotor hub. That exhaust choice is a bit odd though, but it might increase local air velocity over the blades.
