Buy: STEC ZeusRAM™ 3.5" 8G DRAM 6G SAS-2 SSD
Okay, instead of the rumored $10K it's $3K, which makes it much more attractive relative to the DDRdrive. DDRdrive is ($2K,2Gbit,35K-300K IOPs) vs this which is reported as ($3K,6Gbit, 80K IOPs). The DDRdrive guys need to step up their game from PCIe 1.1 x1 if they want to spank this.

Similar to DDRdrive, this is a 3.5" form factor DRAM SSD. Seems to have onboard flash and a supercap to finish writing to the flash in case of power loss. Rumored to cost $3K though. You also take a performance hit in theory because you are going to have to go through SAS2 overhead (DDRdrive is PCIe 1.1 x1 so 2Gbit, versus SAS2 6Gbit)(DDRdrive is 4GB versus this being 8GB)(DDRdrive is $2k vs this being $3k)(DDRdrive consumes a PCIe slot vs this consumes a SAS port)(35K-500K IOPs vs 100K IOPs)
