Intel to Support 128GB of DDR4 on Core 9th Gen Desktop Processors
WTF, double height DDR4? Considering most desktop motherboards have the RAM crosswise to airflow, it will become a cooling air blocker!

RMS-200 NVRAM Edge Card - Radian Memory Systems
possible ZIL alternative to DDRdrive? RMS-200 can be found on ebay, but the newer RMS-300 is nowhere to be found, and the later U.2 version done with Viking Technology (VT-PM16 and VT-PM8) might already be discontinued?

Some sort of startup that is trying to push NAND flash into RAM memory modules for faster access by the CPU. Though typically that sort of strategy requires oodles of RAM slots, which you are not going see often outside of 4 way SMP setups these days...

Online ram memory and networking gear dealer that accepts bitcoin BTC. Apparently they use bitcoin to pay their upstream suppliers/vendors in china with it, because it has fast transaction times and keeps transaction costs low (due to lack of middlemen?)

Buy: STEC ZeusRAM™ 3.5" 8G DRAM 6G SAS-2 SSD
Okay, instead of the rumored $10K it's $3K, which makes it much more attractive relative to the DDRdrive. DDRdrive is ($2K,2Gbit,35K-300K IOPs) vs this which is reported as ($3K,6Gbit, 80K IOPs). The DDRdrive guys need to step up their game from PCIe 1.1 x1 if they want to spank this.

The SSD Company - STEC - ZeusRAM Solid State Drive, High Performance Enterprise Storage Solutions
Similar to DDRdrive, this is a 3.5" form factor DRAM SSD. Seems to have onboard flash and a supercap to finish writing to the flash in case of power loss. Rumored to cost $3K though. You also take a performance hit in theory because you are going to have to go through SAS2 overhead (DDRdrive is PCIe 1.1 x1 so 2Gbit, versus SAS2 6Gbit)(DDRdrive is 4GB versus this being 8GB)(DDRdrive is $2k vs this being $3k)(DDRdrive consumes a PCIe slot vs this consumes a SAS port)(35K-500K IOPs vs 100K IOPs)

Kaminario K2 DRAM Storage Appliance
Big, and probably filthy expensive. Why the hell can't somebody make a 1U with a huge motherboard to accept regular DDR2 or DDR3 RAM sticks for block storage like a DDRdrive or Hyperdrive5? Commodity always wins in the end. Even Intel is getting out of the SLC NAND flash SSD business since the scale of consumer MLC NAND flash SSD production is vastly improving things.

Solid state DDR drive goes into prototype - The Inquirer
Their site is still up. Supposedly they went to ground, feeding some unidentified OEM. Kinda resembles a NetApp PAM card so maybe it went that way. Original spec was DDR1, PCIex1,external backup power with no integrated datadump, which makes this only somewhat on par with a HyperDrive4. When will someone make a 8 slot (or 16 slot if doublesided) DDR2 PCIe x1/x4/x8/x16 RAM card SSD? Please?

4GB, but PCI express connected so the raw speed is high. Ultimately, you would have to use software RAID and external PCIexpress expansion chassis (Like Magma) to get any decent size.
