Interesting chinese work on using EoL C-band transmitter GEO satellites that have drifted off-plane as a pseudo-GPS system with potentially equivalent performance to GPS at substantially lower cost. I assume there will also be a terrestrial repeater network, likely cellular tower based, for improvements in urban canyon environments. The interesting question is will any existing satellite operator be wiling to rent their EoL but still operable satellites, as this can be considered part of a military weapons and navigation system potentially. The alternative is chinese GEO sats having the capability baked in to improve usefulness at EoL. They only need 4 SIGSO sats and 2 GEO sats for the minimum constellation, ostensibly covering mainland china.

New review of beamed propulsion concepts by Nasa. Features a new laser thermal design with a offset heat exchanger plate "wing" on a conventional rocket design. Millimeter wave thermal rocket design resembles past spherical SSTO designs with a half cylinder wrap around heat exchanger. Note that the laser thermal one is sized for double the payload of the millimeter wave design. They also throw in a Myrabo lightcraft for comparison. Nice side design is a beamed power interorbital tug design that looks kinda workable (though the primary reflector/concentrator is a solid single piece design that is asymmetric, rather than a balanced twin reflector "butterfly" design, and the reflector isn't an expanding or inflatable type so it has to fit in the launch shroud)
