Facebook is combining its lucrative app install ads with deep linking so a specific in-app purchase page opens once the app downloads. The result is a powerful new tool for direct marketers that sell products and services through apps. Direct marketing is popular on the web where users can see an ad for a specific product and quickly open it in a new browser tab to make a purchase. But on mobile if a merchant sells through an app, it first must convince people to download their app, then hope customers follow through by digging into the app for the purchase highlighted by the ad. NHS staff told to stop helping patients get gay conversion therapy - BBC Newsbeat
A survey carried out in 2009 found 16% of therapists in the UK had attempted gay conversion therapy. The treatment isn't offered on the NHS, but it's understood some staff have occasionally put patients in touch with organisations who provide it. Experts say attempting so-called "gay cures" can be "dangerous" and "damaging". Fourteen organisations, including NHS England, have signed an agreement to stop gay conversion therapy being offered to patients. Although in general, referrals to conversion services are rare - there is evidence that GPs, counsellors and psychotherapists have made them.

Wordpress VIP plus its new corporate communication platform geto2.com - will compete with the likes of Yammer (MSFT owned) and Slack, atlassian's platforms as well as Salesforce's platform. smart raising a round when money is flushing around - hunt for yield. taking the money for the long-term. likely giving them +5 years runway and solidifying their publishing platform might. there will be acqui-hires along the way I guess. + Automattic’s competitors have certainly been investing, noted Mullenweg. In their last rounds, Weebly raised $35 million, Squarespace $40 million and Medium $25 million. In addition, Wix is currently valued at around $730 million, raising $127 million, in an IPO. ... Automattic's aim is, to become cash-flow positive - I guess. Not in a hurry but naturally with pushing mobile, e-commerce and the Freemium model (driving up conversion) on Wordpress.com.
