US-Eltern meiden Adoption afroamerikanischer Kinder - SPIEGEL ONLINE

How a whistleblower brought down Chicago police chief - BBC News
It was a common story in Chicago. According to the Better Government Association, Chicago police shot 240 people over a four-year span, or about one per week. Seventy of those people died and of those, two-thirds were African American. The city's Independent Police Review Authority has investigated 400 police shootings since 2007 and found only one incident to be unjustified. It seemed as though McDonald's case would be chalked up as another justified use of deadly force. But the person on the phone told Futterman a very different story. He said the shooting was captured on a police vehicle's dash camera.

Book Excerpt: Understanding the New Jim Crow | BillMoyers.com
The following is an excerpt from Michelle Alexander’s book The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness. - "Today it is perfectly legal to discriminate against criminals in nearly all the ways that it was once legal to discriminate against African-Americans. Once you’re labeled a felon, the old forms of discrimination— employment discrimination, housing discrimination, denial of the right to vote, denial of educational opportunity, denial of food stamps and other public benefits and exclusion from jury service — are suddenly legal. ...We have not ended racial caste in America; we have merely redesigned it." - Michelle Alexander

America Must End Its Paranoid War on Hackers | WIRED
"Our privileged attorney-client communications were routinely and illegally opened by the prison; when weev was interrogated by the FBI (while being denied an attorney) about one of his communications to me and complained about his privileged attorney-client mail being opened, one of the FBI agents told him that they “didn’t give a fuck about the attorney client privilege.” Unfortunately, this attitude is typical of many FBI agents; generally they believe they are above the law they are entrusted to enforce. [...] I’ve heard similar tales of nasty, brutish, and petty treatment when dealing with the U.S. penal system from other hackers I know who were thrown in jail for non-violent offenses. [...] Hackers are the new communists for the DOJ.

The Coming Race War Won’t Be About Race | TIME
via reddit - http://bit.ly/1oLANYC || Ferguson is not just about systemic racism — it's about class warfare and how America's poor are held back, says Kareem Abdul-Jabbar [...] According to a 2012 Pew Research Center report, just half of U.S. households are middle-income, a drop of 11 percent since the 1970s; median middle-class income has dropped by 5 percent in the last ten years, total wealth is down 28 percent. Fewer people (just 23 percent) think they will have enough money to retire.
