Insurgent Democrats, Many of Them Women, Worry a New Party Policy Will Block Them - The New York Times
WASHINGTON — A move by House Democratic leaders to thwart party members from mounting primary challenges to incumbents, even in safe Democratic districts, could have the unintended consequence of arresting the party’s shift toward a more female and racially diverse caucus, one of its most striking achievements of the last election.

Last week, a Democratic political consultant with longstanding ties to the party’s campaign committees quit a senior-partner position at the firm Deliver Strategies after it, like most dominant campaign outfits, agreed to comply with a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee policy barring it from conducting business with a primary opponent of a sitting Democrat.

Clinton Campaign Had Additional Signed Agreement With DNC In 2015 : NPR
Brazile wrote that she discovered an agreement that "specified that in exchange for raising money and investing in the DNC, Hillary would control the party's finances, strategy, and all the money raised. Her campaign had the right of refusal of who would be the party communications director, and it would make final decisions on all the other staff."

Fahrenheit 911 clip - DNC rigged primary against Sanders
Say what you will about Michael Moore or his films, but this clip from his film “Fahrenheit 11/9” which features Bernie and the reasons why he was knocked out of the running in 2016 is VERY important to watch.

This demolishes any leftover salty “Hillary lost because of Bernie” nonsense. The Democrats lost because 100 million people didn’t want to vote in this crooked election. The Democrats lost because Hillary wanted to hold $1k dinners for her elitist constituents instead of holding rallies in important swing states. The Democrats lost because they did not take Trump as the serious threat he was. That self-righteous, pompous attitude that they claim only conservatives soak in got us here. They are not any better when it comes to entitlement, arrogance and being bought by corporate donors.

Dismantle the electoral college. Eliminate super delegates. One person, one vote. We cannot let this happen again!

FYI, the full movie is currently steaming on Amazon Prime. Watch it if you can!

Clinton fundraising leaves little for state parties - POLITICO
Some fundraisers who work for state parties predict that the arrangement could actually hurt participating state parties. They worry that participating states that aren’t presidential battlegrounds and lack competitive Senate races could see very little return investment from the DNC or Clinton’s campaign, and are essentially acting as money laundering conduits for them. And for party committees in contested states, there’s another risk: They might find themselves unable to accept cash from rich donors whose checks to the victory fund counted toward their $10,000 donation limit to the state party in question — even if that party never got to spend the cash because it was transferred to the DNC.

insult to injury, Perez also tapped several individuals who have lobbying or corporate-interest backgrounds—a move that has sparked criticism in the past. The pack of new delegates includes Joanne Dowdell, a registered lobbyist for Fox News parent company News Corp; Harold Ickes, a veteran of the Clinton White House; and Manuel Ortiz, a lobbyist for CITGO Petroleum Corp and Puerto Rican interests. At least 10 additional Perez-tapped superdelegates have previously been registered as lobbyists, Bloomberg reports.

The Trouble With That Revolving Door - The New York Times
Jeff Hauser, a spokesman for the A.F.L.-C.I.O., said the role of former Democrats in representing corporate America is one of the reasons that the umbrella labor organization has recently broken its firm allegiance to the Democratic Party. “We can’t be positioned as attached to the Democratic Party because there are elements of the party that have contributed to the 99 percent versus 1 percent division in this country,” he said. Hauser cited a key speech by A.F.L.-C.I.O. president Richard Trumka on May 20 declaring organized labor’s independence from either party:

Cory Booker Joins Senate Republicans to Kill Measure to Import Cheaper Medicine From Canada
Earlier this year Booker voted against a bill that would have allowed Americans to buy prescription drugs from Canada at dramatic savings.

Booker joined Republicans to to preserve an artificial, government-created pharmaceutical monopoly which allows the industry to treat Americans as a captive market and mark up drug prices as much as they want, far in excess of what they charge the rest of the world.

Booker has received more pharmaceutical manufacturing cash over the past six years than any other Democratic senator: $267,338.

Why Bernie Sanders Wasn’t Invited to CAP’s Ideas Conference | The Nation
In the battle over ideas in the Democratic party, it's clear the moderates aren't getting much quarter. This was on display at the "Ideas Conference" held Tuesday by the Center for American Progress, the central policy and personnel clearinghouse for Democratic administrations. Just before the event, the think tank released "A Marshall Plan for America"—an ambitious jobs guarantee via "a large-scale, permanent program of public employment and infrastructure investment."

But there was an awkward absence: Senator Bernie Sanders. He was not invited to the "Ideas Conference," and his exclusion makes clear that while Democrats are converging around a general set of ideological principles, the party still faces some serious coalition-building problems.

KING: The Democratic Party doesn't get why it's so unpopular - NY Daily News
A troubling new poll was just released showing that the Democratic Party is significantly less popular than both Donald Trump and Mike Pence. My gut tells me that Democrats will ignore this poll, or blame it on bad polling, and continue down the same course they are currently on: being funded by lobbyists and the 1%, straddling the fence or outright ignoring many of most inspirational issues of the time, and blaming Bernie Sanders for why they aren’t in power right now.

As a general rule the Democratic Party doesn’t listen well and struggles to hear the truth about itself.

In case you’ve been living under a rock, Republicans now control the House, the Senate, the presidency, and the overwhelming majority of state legislatures and governorships. This new poll from Suffolk University illustrates just how that’s possible. Here are the base results of the poll with favorable/unfavorable ratings.

 Pence: 47%/35%
Trump: 45%/47%
GOP: 37%/48%
Media: 37%/50%
Dem Party: 36%/52%
Hillary: 35%/55%
Congress: 26%/52%
Part of the reason why the Democratic Party is so reviled stems from leaked emails in which former DNC chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz appeared to show favortism to Clinton over Bernie Sanders.

In other words, the Democratic Party has a favorability rating 11 points lower than Pence, nine points lower than Trump, and even one point lower than the GOP.

What Bernie Sanders Gets Right About Identity Politics
One would imagine that this single mother might have found Sanders's plan for universal child care to be of use. And while it's true that Wall Street reform would not resolve Flint's water crisis, to the extent that the crisis was the product of systemic racism — which is to say, of the state government's indifference to a politically and economically disadvantaged African-American community — the dysfunction of our financial system is clearly relevant. Among the proximate causes of black America's current disempowerment is the legacy of the subprime mortgage crisis, which erased 43 percent of the community's wealth. Loan officers at Wells Fargo pushed black clients — or, as they referred to them, "mud people" — to take out subprime loans, even when their credit histories qualified them for prime ones.

How the Democrats could win again, if they wanted | Thomas Frank | Opinion | The Guardian
If the unreconstructed Democratic party is to be saved, I suspect, what will save it is what always saves it: the colossal incompetence of the Republicans. This, too, we can already see coming down the rails. Donald Trump is getting the wrecking crew back together, and before too long, I suspect, he will have the country pining for Hillary Clinton.

Rebellion in the Democratic Party: Keith Ellison eyes top spot as DNC staff berates Donna Brazile -
According to public opinion surveys, Clinton and Trump were the least popular presidential candidates in U.S. history. During the primaries, Sanders repeatedly warned the party and its voters that he was more likely to defeat Trump than Clinton was.

How 107 Superdelegates Robbed 11 Million Democratic Voters
But all three authors neglected to report that Hillary Clinton reached 2,383 delegates only with the help of 107 superdelegates from states Bernie Sanders won, who actively thwarted the will of millions of Democratic voters in their own states.

In Utah, where Sanders won by a 79-20 margin, two of the state’s four superdelegates are backing Clinton.
11 of 16 superdelegates in Minnesota are supporting Clinton, even though Sanders won the state’s March 1 caucus by a 62-38 margin.
While Sanders blew Clinton out of the water by a 73-27 margin in Washington State, Clinton has 10 of 16 superdelegates. Sanders has zero.
Six of Wisconsin’s ten superdelegates are supporting Clinton, while only one is backing Sanders. The Vermont senator won the Badger State’s primary by 14 points.
All nine superdelegates in Rhode Island have committed to supporting Hillary Clinton, even though Bernie Sanders defeated the former Secretary of State by a 12-point margin.
Sanders also has only one superdelegate in Alaska, same as Clinton, even after winning the state by an 82-18 margin. One Alaska superdelegate backing Clinton patronized and belittled a Sanders supporter who asked her to cast her superdelegate vote with how her state’s residents voted.
Comparatively, only 14 of Sanders’ 49 superdelegates have come from states Hillary Clinton won. Two of those superdelegates came from Arizona, where the US Department of Justice is conducting an official investigation due to widespread complaints of election fraud and voter suppression.

Sanders: DNC vetoed union leader pick for platform committee - The Washington Post
That was cold comfort to DeMoro. "The most insidious thing, frankly, is that only one of 15 people on this drafting committee is for labor," she said. "It shows you how insidious the DNC has become. Labor built this party. Labor built this country. One person is enough to represent all of that? If you look at the composition of who they chose, besides Bernie’s choices, K Street’s far better represented than the labor movement."

Basic step-by-step of what went down yesterday at Nevada Convention, with background info and video links for better understanding. : SandersForPresident
Nevada Democratic Party knew that based on the 2nd Tier vote, the 3rd Tier would probably go to Bernie. They didn't want this. So they changed some rules around!
Changed the Nevada Democratic Party rules so that Nevada's delegates would be awarded to the winner of the Feb 20th 1st Tier (ie Hillary).
However, they also knew that educated people would try to make motions at the convention to object to this rule, and that those motions would probably pass! So....
They also changed the Nevada Democratic Party rules so that all votes on the floor of the convention would be decided ONLY by a voice vote (all in favor say "aye", etc), and that the results of that voice vote would be decided ONLY by Nevada Democratic Party Chair Roberta Lange, and that her say was FINAL.

All-too-ready for Hillary
Obama loyalists who have been part of, or the subject of, hiring discussions for the campaign and advisory roles include Betsy Hoover, Obama’s 2012 director of digital organizing, who could head up Clinton’s digital operation. While White House deputy press secretary Eric Schultz is being discussed as a later, post-primary addition, former National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor, who helped the Clinton camp with June 2014’s book rollout, is also frequently part of the discussions. And Yohannes Abraham, currently a top aide to Valerie Jarrett, is seen as joining the political staff.
