New, used, and rare books bought and sold. I think the Aubrey Beardsley image reproduced on Rogers' business card is a good reference. Per Amazon.com.

The Dusty Bookshelf - Home
Looks like about the best venue for both new and used books in Lawrence, Kansas.
As I write this, a Manhattan location is closed, after a fire.

The Worst of All Possible Universes and the Best of All Possible Earths: Three Body and Chinese Science Fiction | Tor.com
Liu Cixin discusses writing his "Remembrance of Earth's Past" trilogy in the context of Chinese science fiction and its audience.

"I wrote about the worst of all possible universes in 'Three Body' out of hope that we can strive for the best of all possible Earths."

The Dusty Bookshelf - Home
"With two locations in Northeast Kansas, we bring the warmth of a local bookstore to Aggieville in Manhattan and Mass Street in Lawrence"--except that the Manhattan location is now closed by fire. My guess is that this is Lawrence's best used bookstore.

Prosperos Bookstore - Kansas City, MO -
Promising Kansas City-area used bookstore. The last blog post was in 2014; but when the home page features a picture of a TV with the caption "Step away from the Box," this may be a token of sincerity.

Neal Stephenson - Cryptonomicon
Until the take-down notice arrives, text of Neal Stephenson's "Cryptonomicon" is here. I like this as a searchable repository of quotes from a book I find eminently quotable.

As I write, this seems to be a very new Internet Archive project. Already almost 700,000 images, but that's about 100,000 more than when I first stumbled on it, an hour or so ago. Unfortunately it's not configured to allow tagging by third parties.

CreateSpace: Self Publishing and Free Distribution for Books, CD, DVD
On seeing what looked like a relatively thin and flimsy book about Selenium on Amazon.com, published using this service, I realized it wouldn't be that hard to make one's self a published author, mention it in resumes and online profiles, and so on. Especially on computer topics, since you can pad insanely with all the screen shots you want!

Wonderful art and architecture bookstore. If I had way too much money, I'd occasionally venture down from the hills over Malibu to fill up the Range Rover with purchases from this place.

Archival sketchbooks with heavier paper than the Canson product I'm used to. I like the ivory paper color, too. Lyon Art Supply made me aware of these.
