The Secret Casualties of Iraq’s Abandoned Chemical Weapons
Turns out they did have chemical weapons! Not militarily usable, ones we helped them make decades ago, that have fallen apart. Still dangerous to the soliders (and indeed locals) exposed to them, but the army didn't want information getting out about it.

“‘We Have Always Fought’: Challenging the ‘Women, Cattle and Slaves’ Narrative” by Kameron Hurley — A Dribble of Ink
'I’m going to tell you a story about llamas. It will be like every other story you’ve ever heard about llamas: how they are covered in fine scales; how they eat their young if not raised properly; and how, at the end of their lives, they hurl themselves – lemming-like - over cliffs to drown in the surging sea. They are, at heart, sea creatures, birthed from the sea, married to it like the fishing people who make their livelihood there.'

Inside the Battle of Hoth: The Empire Strikes Out | Danger Room | Wired.com
'How did the Galactic Empire ever cement its hold on the Star Wars Universe? The war machine built by Emperor Palpatine and run by Darth Vader is a spectacularly bad fighting force, as evidenced by all of the pieces of Death Star littering space. But of all the Empire’s failures, none is a more spectacular military fiasco than the Battle of Hoth at the beginning of The Empire Strikes Back.'

Roman helmet turns history on its head - Telegraph
Every school child used to learn how the British defended their land during the Roman Conquest. But the discovery of a 2,000-year-old Roman helmet beneath a Leicestershire hillside suggests a different story. Rather than repel the invaders, some Britons fought in the Roman ranks.

'Home secretary announces ban on group, which burned poppies last November and was planning Armistice Day protest this year'

But they're doing it for the fact that they're glorifying terrorism, and they're apparently just a renaming of an already banned group, not for burning poppies, so I have less issue with the ban.
