'Shark Tank' star Kevin O'Leary's Sunday routine
On Sundays, however, he switches things up a bit. He still wakes up at 5 and exercises, but instead of reading about the markets, he watches CBS's "Sunday Morning," which "takes my mind off business," O'Leary tells CNBC Make It.

"Then I watch at least two political shows, to just see which way the wind is blowing," he adds. "Politics matter. If you're an investor like me, you want to know which direction the country's going."

For the rest of the day, O'Leary indulges in his hobbies. "I want to do things that interest me, my hobbies, my watch collection, my wine business," he says.

Finally, spending time with his family is an integral part of his Sunday, he says.

"Usually on weekends I've got everybody together, and Sunday nights [we have] a big family dinner."

O'Leary says he tries to do it no matter how hard it is to get together.

"I like to go out to a restaurant sometimes. Sometimes you have 20 people," he says.

"It's an old Italian, Lebanese old-world tradition," explains O'Leary, who says he is half Lebanese and half Irish. "Grandmothers, mothers, all the kids around. It's just wonderful."

"It's just a great time, and it sets you up for the week ahead," O'Leary says.

PASTIS
…in general, my philosophy on blogging has shifted from “every essay must be a perfect, shimmering artifact” to “blog posts should be short, authentic, and flawed transportation devices”.

A friend of a friend does this at work: they mark off from ten to noon and three to five as “engineering time”, and spend the intervening three hours doing anything but programming.

…one of those “correct” Sundays, where you flit from obligation to obligation and never grow tired enough to require pause.

How 50 Cent, Rapper and Actor, Spends His Sundays - The New York Times
OFFICE HOURS I head straight to my office after my workout. I might be listening to my music or music from other artists I want to sign onto my label, G-Unit Records. Right now, I’m considering a rapper called Leonard Grant. He’s been around for a while and is very talented but has never had a strong push behind him. I also go over my projects. I’m launching a Champagne next year because it’s my favorite drink. And I go over my scripts. I’m there for a few hours, usually alone, and since it’s Sunday, it’s quiet, and I can get a lot of work done.

Playstation 2 Freedom Weekender – TowersTimes
For the first weekend of September 2005 the park was taken over by the Playstation 2 Weekender. A series of temporary free events were arranged around the park, from Inflatable Sumo in the gardens to Laser Quest in the Towers. For those with a head for heights there was also a zip wire running from the top of the Towers to the lawns in front of Towers Street, where a plethora of computer consoles were available for the less active Playstation Fans.

30-year-old millionaire: This habit is essential to my career success
On a typical Saturday, most people meet up with friends, watch a movie or catch up on errands. Kyle Taylor, founder and CEO of financial advice website The Penny Hoarder, does those things too — but only after he spends the day learning.

"Every Saturday, that is my day to read, listen to podcasts, catch up on what's going on in the industry," Taylor tells CNBC Make It. "I block out the entire day for that because it's really the way that I stay on top of my game."

Taylor, who once picked up change off the street to pay for food and is now a millionaire, says that people should take advantage of the weekend as a time to focus on their career.

"We often think of investment as money," he says, "but I think it's also important to make a time investment."

During the week, it can feel impossible to make time to read interesting articles about your industry, crack open a book or sit down and listen to a podcast in full. In fact, most Americans can't even find the time to get enough sleep.

Taylor's advice? Save it for the weekend. And make it fun.

"I save it all up for Saturdays, and I turn it into a relaxing day," he says, "me, the dog, sometimes a bottle of champagne and I go through that stack of papers."

If he has extra time, he'll watch a documentary.

"It doesn't feel like learning, doesn't feel like work, but it's continuing to help grow and help add to my professional development," the CEO says.

After spending his Saturday learning, he hangs out with friends or family and catches up on errands. On Sundays, he takes a few hours to have a "financial date" with himself, where he keeps track of his spending and savings and checks in on his progress towards goals.

"Give yourself some time," he says, "to continue to learn, to invigorate your mind."
