Testing in Production, the safe way – Cindy Sridharan – Medium
In this post, I hope to explore different forms of "testing in production", when each form of testing is the most beneficial as well as how to test services in production in a safe way.

* Three Phases of "Production": Deploy, Release, Post-Release

* Testing in Production during the Deploy Phase: Integration Testing, Shadowing (also known as Dark Traffic Testing or Mirroring), Tap Compare, Load Testing, Config Tests

* Testing in Production — Release: Canarying, Monitoring, Exception Tracking, Traffic Shaping

* Testing in Production — Post-Release: Feature Flagging or Dark Launch, A/B Testing, Logs/Events, Metrics and Tracing, Profiling, Teeing, Chaos Engineering

Notes from "Growing Object Oriented Software, Guided by Tests"
Below is a collection of notes I made after reading Growing Object Oriented Software, Guided by Tests. I highly recommend that developers read this book. Writing tests is hard, and using tests to write good code is even harder. It takes a lot of time and a lot of getting it wrong before you can get it right.

portingle/slf4jtesting: SLF4J Testing library optimised for test concurrency and dependency injection
SLF4JTesting is a library that provides facilities for log testing that are simple to use and optimised for use in environments with concurrent test execution and/or where console logging is desired.

SLF4JTesting provides a "Testing Double" of SLF4J LoggerFactory as a utility to conveniently configure logging on a test by test basis. It is useful in both unit and integration tests cases and also as a general purpose logging implementation that does not rely on singletons or other constructs that might cause cross-test interference.

JT Harness - Code Tools - OpenJDK Wiki
The JT harness is based on Oracle's JavaTest harness. The JT harness is a general purpose, fully-featured, flexible, and configurable test harness very well suited for most types of unit testing. Originally developed as a test harness to run TCK test suites, it has since evolved into a general purpose test platform. The JT harness: Is designed to configure, sequence, and run test suites that consist of many (100,000 or more) discrete, independent tests. It is especially good at testing APIs and compilers. Can be used to run tests on all of the Java platforms, from the Java Card platform, to the Java Platform, Enterprise Edition ("Java EE"). Enables you to create test suites that are self-contained products that customers can easily configure and run.
