OWASP
Open Web Application Security Project; per Urban Science training. From the website:
Every vibrant technology marketplace needs an unbiased source of information on best practices as well as an active body advocating open standards. In the Application Security space, one of those groups is the Open Web Application Security Project (or OWASP for short).
The Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) is a 501(c)(3) worldwide not-for-profit charitable organization focused on improving the security of software. Our mission is to make software security visible, so that individuals and organizations are able to make informed decisions. OWASP is in a unique position to provide impartial, practical information about AppSec to individuals, corporations, universities, government agencies and other organizations worldwide. Operating as a community of like-minded professionals, OWASP issues software tools and knowledge-based documentation on application security.
Everyone is free to participate in OWASP and all of our materials are available under a free and open software license. You'll find everything about OWASP here on or linked from our wiki and current information on our OWASP Blog. OWASP does not endorse or recommend commercial products or services, allowing our community to remain vendor neutral with the collective wisdom of the best minds in software security worldwide.

6 Open Source Test Automation Frameworks You Need to Know - Automation Testing Made Easy
"However, I’ve seen some teams take it to the extreme by building their own, elaborate automation framework from scratch. This drives me crazy, because they could have easily made use of existing open-source tools and libraries that would have met their needs without writing any code — in most cases with better results."
Yup. Taste the bitterness of my tears.

Nadim's Blog: How to run Selenium Webdriver code with Visual Studio Test Framework
"Now I will show you how Selenium WebDriver code generated from selenium IDE can be run at Visual studio Test Framework." Not surprisingly, this blog post has a few failings, from my point of view. First, it's several years old, meaning all the puzzle pieces mentioned are a couple of versions behind. It targets Firefox and uses Selenium's recording capability to generate some test code, which is arguably an acceptable compromise, given the need to get something across in a single blog post. It doesn't describe overall control flow or the .NET C# unit test framework. However, it does what it does in detail, with many screen shots.

Google Testing Blog: Just Say No to More End-to-End Tests
All software development constituencies like the idea of end-to-end testing, but it's slow and expensive. Use it as a last resort. (This seems to assume you have a well-defined idea of how user interaction works, such that low-level testing is an appropriate match to the context.) Per Preethi Manoharan.
