4 new books from Minnesota authors that plumb emotional depths | Pioneer Press | August 5, 2018
One of the four books, “Tales of Love and Despair: Men in Love In Revolutionary Iran,” was written by the late Macalester Sociology professor Mahnaz Kousha (Self-published, $9.99), who died last October. “I knew they shared more with me than if I were male,” she wrote. “They saw me more as a therapist or counselor than as a sociologist. I, however, found their silences potent, pregnant with deep-felt introspection and emotions.”
