“Not like this, you idiot,” Loki says, kissing Thor's mouth to make the castigation fond. “We’re too exposed here. Anyone might discover us.”

The devastation in Midgard was unlike anything Thor had ever seen; corpses littered the streets, victims of a deadly disease, and rescue efforts were quickly abandoned, when those sent to help fell ill themselves.

All in all, it was impossible for things to get any worse—until the dead began to rise.
