Ford v Ferrari - Movie Trailers - iTunes
Academy Award-winners Matt Damon and Christian Bale star in FORD v FERRARI, based on the remarkable true story of the visionary American car designer Carroll Shelby (Damon) and the fearless British-born driver Ken Miles (Bale), who together battled corporate interference, the laws of physics, and their own personal demons to build a revolutionary race car for Ford Motor Company and take on the dominating race cars of Enzo Ferrari at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France in 1966.

Ford GT Mk II – 700-HP Track-Only Supercar
Only 45 units of this racing-inspired track-only supercar will be built and will cost $1.2 million each.
The Ford GT Mk II is a new track-only version of the GT supercar.
It has a 700-hp version of the GT's twin-turbo V-6 engine, a racing-inspired aero package, and a stripped-out interior.
Only 45 will be built at a cost of $1.2 million each.
After being teased a few weeks ago, Ford has unveiled the GT Mk II at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the U.K. As we expected, it's a track-only version of the GT supercar that has been developed using knowledge gained from the GT's soon-to-be-over racing program. The GT road car is limited in design and engineering by global homologation requirements, while the Le Mans–winning race car is bogged down by racing class restrictions and regulations, so the designers and engineers were able to go wild with the Mk II, as it doesn't need to adhere to any set of rules.

Ford Is Showing a Special GT Supercar at Goodwood on July 4
A shadowy teaser shows a GT equipped with a large rear wing and a big roof scoop.
Ford has released a teaser for a mysterious version of the GT that will make its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed next month.
It has a large wing and a roof scoop that look similar to those of the now defunct GT race cars.
We think it could be a track-only version of the supercar that will be sold to customers.
Ahead of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, which starts on July 4, Ford has released a shadowy teaser of a mysterious GT supercar that portends a "special Ford GT announcement" that it will be making at the festival. The press conference will be made by Hermann Salenbauch, the global director of Ford Performance, and Larry Holt, the chief technical officer of Multimatic.
We've enhanced the teaser image to try to reveal some additional details, with middling results, but what we can see is quite interesting. Immediately differentiating this GT from the standard production cars are a massive rear wing and a roof scoop like those found on the now discontinued race car. So, could this be just a new version of the race car, maybe one in a final send-off livery that will compete in some special race?

Ford GT With 2,500 HP Hits 300.4 MPH at the Texas Mile, Sets New Standing Mile Record - The Drive
At that speed, it takes the Ford GT less than one second to cover the length of a football field.
A previous-generation Ford GT prepped by M2K Motorsports achieved an eye-watering speed of 300.4 miles per hour at the Texas Mile event on Sunday. The mile-long runway of the Victoria Regional Airport proved to be just what the GT needed to stretch its 2,500 horsepower and establish a new standing mile record on just its third run.
According to a video uploaded to YouTube by M2K Motorsports, the Gulf-liveried Ford GT warmed up with a 174.5-mph run before cranking things up a notch and reaching 240 mph on its second trip down the runway, only to give it the whole enchilada on the third and final run when it successfully reached 300.4 mph. For you Euro folk, that's a whopping 483.44 kilometers per hour in just a 1.60-km stretch of road.

Watch a 2018 Ford GT Face Off Against the Dodge Challenger Demon in a Half-Mile Drag Race - The Drive
Can Ford's high-tech supercar best Mopar's drag monster on a closed down stretch of runway?
A new video from the YouTube channel DragTimes compares half-mile straight line performance between the 2018 Ford GT and the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon during the WannaGoFast South Florida runway racing event. Both of these cars have become icons since their release and are capable of 200-plus mile-per-hour top speeds, so pitting them against each other will surely make for an interesting test.
For the race, the Dodge Demon was running on 100 octane fuel, bumping power up to 840 from the 808 figure it typically runs on pump gas. The Challenger was also running with the "Demon Crate" skinny tires up front and wide Mickey Thomspon drag radials at the rear. The Ford GT, on the other hand, was given no race prep before making its passes on the runway.
From a numbers perspective, it seems like the Demon should be the obvious winner of this duel. It's powered by a 6.2-liter pushrod Hemi V-8 with a 2.7-liter supercharger bolted on top, and it pushes that previously mentioned 840 horsepower to the ground using an eight-speed auto box that Dodge re-designed with drag racing in mind. The Ford GT has a relatively tiny 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 making 647 horsepower, and is mated to a seven-speed, dual-clutch transmission.
That's a nearly 200 horsepower deficit compared to the Challenger, but you can't rule out the GT's weight and aero advantage. The Ford is made from lightweight carbon and is shaped like a Le Mans racer, while the Dodge carries the weight and form of a giant brick. The Ford GT weighs in around 3,400 pounds, while the Demon packs on almost half a ton more, at 4,280 pounds.
With all these figures in mind, how will the two fare on the runway? Skip to the five-minute mark in the video to get straight to the racing action.

The Underrateds: Hot Wheels Circuit Legends ’16 Ford GT Race – theLamleyGroup
As part of the Lamley Awards for 2018, I am featuring a few models that will sadly go overlooked as the Awards are announced. They are the Underrateds.
Last year Hot Wheels released a Forza mix in its Replica Entertainment line. Lots of cool models, but the model I was looking most forward to was this one...
Premium version of the Ford GT Race Car, and done up as a bit of a tribute to the Le Mans-winning car. Doing the Le Mans winner seemed a no-brainer to me, and this one was going to have to do.
Only it didn’t. Cool car to be sure, but the colors were reversed, and there seemed to be a lot of white space. Not to mention I didn’t like the chrome-lipped wheels. Nerdy, yes, but oh well.

Unboxing: Hot Wheels Car Culture Circuit Legends & Entertainment Forza – theLamleyGroup
Soooo, things are gonna be busy.
Forza is out, and available at Wheel Collectors. That means the inevitable, and deserved, S15 Frenzy has begun. And Car Culture Circuit Racers is out too. Unboxing coming and features coming.
Aaaand, the Hot Wheels Convention is less than a week away. I have showcases ready for that. And the DLM Party to prepare for. (You want to attend. I promise.). And the Leipzig Toy Fair is coming, with – as always – a huge Matchbox presence. I have previews coming for that. Rains it pours, but it will be fun.
So let’s get started. Wheel Collectors called me yesterday to tell me that got some pallets full of awesome, and I asked if they would quickly film an unboxing, and Matt & Matt did. So here they are. Now you know what you look for:

Showcase: Hot Wheels Car Culture Circuit Legends – theLamleyGroup
The second-to-last Car Culture release of 2018, and it’s great one. Hard to pick a favorite, especially with an Advan Porsche, a 787B, and a Le Mans winning Ford GT. Plus a classic Corvette. So I will just like them all. But that has essentially been the case with all Car Culture.
Here is a look:

A Tale of Two: The Hot Wheels 2017 Ford GT paired with Matchbox’s 2005. – the Lamley Group
I’ve done this before, but this time it is even better.
When Hot Wheels released its Ford GT in grey last year, I was instantly reminded of one of my favorite Matchbox models, the Superfast ROW Ford GT released in 2006. So I took some pictures...
But this one makes even more sense. The 2018 recolor of the Hot Wheels Ford GT comes in simple red with white stripes, and it is perfect homage to the 2005 Ford GT.

The next Hot Wheels Gran Turismo set is now available at Wheel Collectors – the Lamley Group
This one is better than last year.
The next Hot Wheels Gran Turismo set has been released, and Wheel Collectors has it. You can buy the set now:
Hot Wheels 2018 Gran Turismo at Wheel Collectors
As far as where we will see this one in stores, I am not entirely sure, but I would assume the same places as last year. Or you can make it super easy and grab a set now. Last year’s set was nice, but this one is a major step up. Do you agree?
Video and photo features coming soon.

Case Report: 2018 Hot Wheels K Case – the Lamley Group
And on to the K Case we go.
Wheel Collectors just unloaded a large pallet from Mattel that included not only the new Gran Turismo and Entertainment sets, but the basic K Case as well. You can see it all – and buy what you want – at Wheel Collectors:
Hot Wheels at Wheel Collectors
The last few basic cases have been nice, and this one follows that trend. As always, WC picked a case off the pallet at random and opened it up, 3-by-3. Have a look...

The Ford GT has me looking at Greenlight again. – the Lamley Group
Hey look, a Greenlight post!
Many of you have noticed the lack of Greenlight here on Lamley, and some of you have specific ideas as to why.  I would love to indulge those theories, but the fact is I just haven’t been that into Greenlight lately.  I have never considered Lamley to be a review site, but rather a place for me to showcase what I like or find interesting.  Things I don’t like or am disappointed by surely hit the Lamley Blog, but the rule is mostly “If it doesn’t interest me, it doesn’t make it to the blog”.  I have thought about doing more reviews, and we will see if that happens.
