We all experience food cravings from time to time, but they can sometimes be a sign of something more than just your sweet tooth calling for an indulgence.

The author advises one to take notice of when cravings of any kind (snacks, TV, social media) occur. If you’re good at meditating, you may be able to meditate on it for a few minutes and simply dismiss the craving. Then more you realize that you’re often executing from confirmation bias rather than rationality (e.g. working backwards to justify the action that you want to take), cravings should be easier to avoid. And, there are second-order benefits in that the more you do this, the easier it is (e.g. giving up any individual thing may be hard for the first week but will get easier with time. And when you go to give up the next thing, your brain will have an easier time adjusting).
