Sauron won during the second age
Sauron triumphed in the second age and has been ruling over middle earth for 400 years. The elves forces have been scattered and forced underground, an industrial era is in full sway, and the wizards were sent as 'gifts' to Sauron as a peace offering.

When Thrain uncovered the Arkenstone, Sauron immediately descended on Erebor and claimed it, those who stayed were put to work gathering coal, those who resisted were killed or exiled. It's been decades since then, but encouragement from an unlikely ally, An elf of all people, comes to thorin the two make a plans to steal back the Arkenstone, which unknown to Thorin, is one of the three silmarils.

For this they need someone quick and light on their feet, who won't be missed, and who is desperate enough to take the job. Their search eventually takes them to Bilbo's home in New Hobbiton, a city built upon the charred remains of the shire.

When they finally get to Mordor and sneak in side the castle, bilbo doesn't find the silmaril, instead he finds olórin who offers to take them to the Arkenstone if they bring him along. It turns out olórin is Sauron's concubine/wife, and everyone is in real trouble. Now they're being chased on their quest by the nazgul with a hostage that keeps wandering off.

Illyria from Angel crossover
This is inspired by an weird but awesome dream I had.

I want Illyria wandering around middle earth In her confused yet imperious way acting like a loose cannon and fucking up everyone's plans. I like that she's unpredictably wild and amoral, but not necessarily hostile unless she perceives a threat. I don't think she'd be impressed by Sauron or Smaug at all and she could out-regal Thranduil easily. She'd probably scoff at the ring, call it a cheap illusion and eat it. I want to see what the elves, who are used to being the fastest/strongest/most-immortalest beings would make of her.

A Hobbit/Attack on Titan Fusion: tw for cannibalism and experimentation
Sauron is not pleased. Not pleased at all.

Realizing his Orcs are useless, he decides to seek stronger minions elsewhere, but not on Middle-Earth. He decides to look in alternate worlds. He believes he finds his perfect minions in the Titans of a ravaged place called Earth. Their size and regenerative ability make them seem like ideal candidates. Yet his attempts to reach an accord with them fail. Yet their power and the fear they cause entice him to begin planning.

Orcs suddenly swarm every village, town, and city of every race. The strongest humans, Dwarves, and Elves are taken hostage. Attempts to free them fail. They are herded to parts unknown.

Years later, Sauron frees his experiments. His Titans sweep into Middle-Earth, wrecking a chaos that goes unchallenged. The best warriors fall. The survivors carry tales that terrify. Despite the losses, the major nations band together to fight the terrors. Some time later, word begins to spread that a race previously unknown has found a way to kill the terrors.

The race in question are hobbits.

1: One of the Dwarf-Titans bears a resemblance to Thrain (or Frerin).
11: The hobbits somehow create Middle-Earth's version of the 3D maneuvering equipment.
111: Certain hobbits can Titan-shift. Two happen to be Bilbo and Lobelia.

Sauron's not too good at this whole "romance" thing, very one-sided Sauron/Thranduil
Sauron is a fearsome Dark Lord who causes all of Middle Earth to tremble in despair. He was the second in command and chief torturer of Morgoth. He has brought low and destroyed entire realms. He created the One Ring to Rule Them All...

But he just can't seem to win the heart of the remarkable, beautiful, magnificent Thranduil.

The Dark Lord has had a crush on the gorgeous Elf since they met back in the Second Age, when Sauron was still referring to himself as Annatar. Since then, he's tried everything he can think of to try to woo his...reluctant paramour. For some reason, his darling Thranduil seems more horrified than romanced by Sauron's attempts e.g. getting rid of Thranduil's over-bearing father, redecorating Greenwood, killing off all those pesky unworthy suitors etc.

I'd be happy to see a cracky version of this, but if you'd like to try a serious fill, that'd be great too!

Super Bonuses:

gandalf - non-con, mpreg, pregnancy denial
a bit of a twist on the "someone leaves Erebor pregnant" plot. Gandalfs capture run-in with Sauron goes horribly wrong, but he manages to escape with his life back to the company and escort Bilbo back to the shire. Things are rather uneventful on the way back, but Bilbo notices that the wizard, who has been acting very moody and is constantly sick and fatigued, has something strange going on; he quickly realizes that Gandalf is pregnant, but the wizard refuses to acknowledge the possibility; as months pass and the swell in his abdomen continues to grow, the truth becomes harder to deny. Soon Bilbo has a panicking wizard on his hands who still can't come to terms that he may be carrying the child of his enemy.

sexual dimorphism in the maiar, peacock!sauron.
so i was arguing how hard it was to take sauron seriously when he captures gandalf, only to do a mind trick, revealing who he was and then not killing the wizard immediately. Maybe there was a reason in the books, i haven't read any of the supplementary materials and i know the istari's back story, but this amused me.

My friend pitched this idea of maiar sexual dimorphism, where the old man look is actually what a typical female maiar looks like, and sauron the typical male and the whole light show was basically sauron showing off.

anyway, no need for a pairing, i'd just be interested in an exploration of the topic, crack or serious.

Suaron posses Bilbo - horror, angst
It happened gradually; so slow no one realised something was off with Bilbo, not even himself.
But when the hobbit enters the treasure chamber, Sauron takes control, and convinces Smaug to fight for him and plots how to burn down Middle Earth.
And Bilbo is the helpless witness, seeing through Sauron's (his) eyes how everything and everyone he loves turns to ashes around him.

assassins creed xover
takes place in the normal middle earth setting. belladonna was the last acting assassin. the took line is the only family remaining with eagle vision (and thus, descending from those who came before), which, if unlocked, is believed to just be took craziness

Bilbo was taught the standard assassin skills except for how to kill before bella died (so freerunning, stealth, blending in, eagle vision) He only knows about assassins/templars as stories, and still has his canon disposition because he doesnt even know those skills are useful for anything but playing jokes on people.

gandalf is an ally to the assassins. Thorin and his company are unknowing neutrals who just want Erebor back. Gandalf brought Bilbo along because the arkenstone is a piece of eden and only bilbo will be safe to handle it due to his heritage.

The durin royalty were templars, but thrain never got the chance to bring his children into the fold before disappearing. Smaug is a neutral forc-- (Full details at prompt)

Sauron is called the Lord of the Werewolves. So, while it's never mentioned in the Lord of the Rings or the Hobbit, it's possible that there are villages in Middle Earth that are plagued by werewolves.

Maybe Hobbiton or Bree ends up having a werewolf one day? Or Dale?

Redeeming Smaug AU
I can’t figure out how to make this prompt succinct – sorry! Dragons were once great wyrms, even as the first orcs were elves, once, captured by Melkor, the Great Enemy, and tortured and mutilated, twisted vilely to darkness. When Melkor captured the great fire-wyrms of the air and the lesser cold-wyrms of the water and twisted them to his purpose, they became dragons, fire-drakes and cold-drakes, forgetting all ties to the land, consumed with greed for gold and precious gems, disdainful of all lives but their own. In his pride, though, Melkor left this twisting to his most trusted lieutenant, and Sauron the Necromancer had not the power to poison all beyond hope of redemption; thus, all dragons have a Heartstone, a point of vulnerability. Sauron/gandalf - stockholm syndrome, potential mpreg? triggers: Emotional manipulation, Dub-Con
When Gandalf is captured he is taken prisoner to Sauron's tower, where he expects to be tortured and killed, but When the wizard gets there, all restraints taken off and he is taken to very comfortable living quarters, and except for a few rooms, is given free run of the place. Sauron is gentle, kind, generous and patient with him. He gets angry, of course, when Gandalf tries to escape, and he revokes certain priveledges, but will often make up for them in extravagant ways and never does he lift his hand to strike wizard. This treatment, coupled with the isolation, starts to wear Gandalf down and the wizard lowers his guard. Of course Sauron is not without his schemes, there is a catch to all of this. Sauron has gotten his hands on a Maiar, and is very interested in using Gandalf to breed his own Dark Istari order. His varying degrees of success are up to the author, but please, no violent rape scenes.

When Bard slays the dragon a shower of blood and magic hits him. It is a dragon's last revenge and a way of propagating their species, in the olden days it used to put people off the idea of slaying them - but the people of laketown have forgotten. A while after the battle of the five armies Bard starts feeling odd and nobody can tell what is wrong with him. He starts throwing up and his belly swells. Bard insists he's fine (cos he's stubborn) and it's just the rich food of kinghood which he's not used to, but his advisors send the kids to stay with an auntie-type and request help from the elves. The elves have longer memories and figure out that Bard is pregnant with dragon eggs. Bard is anguished and tries to kill himself, but the magic protecting the eggs means he can not be harmed until they are, um, layed. FULL DETAILS AT THE PROMPT.

Angbang - MPreg
I know, I know. Hear me out! Sauron is a shapeshifter. In the last few months of the War of Wrath, he sees their forces dwindling and sets things up to preserve Melkor's efforts in every way he can, which includes offering himself up as a vessel for a tiny future half-Vala. This ultimately influences him choosing to flee to Harad instead of subjecting himself to the judgment of the Valar like Melkor, where he can safely deliver/finish creating the child. What happens after that, well, who knows? :3c

Melkor/Sauron, luxurious fucking, evil being domestic, anything with these two really
So first of all please direct your attention here: . and here: . Ok, wonderful. This is my OTP, there's practically nothing written for it, and it's all Phobs' fault that I have this problem. Anything really. Absolutely anything you can give me will be loved and appreciated beyond measure. Because of Phobs' numerous comics I've grown quite fond of the idea of Melkor and Sauron being complete derps when they aren't out trying to convince all of Arda that they are super serious bad guys. Also marathon sex would be awesome. Porn is always great. Or being all sweet and fluffy with each other in front of minions and then realizing that there are others present and trying to save face. Anything with these two really. Anything at all, please I beg you, just write something.

Naruto/Tolkien xover - Naruto befriends the bad guys. Again
Naruto (from the manga) gets thrown into Middle Earth either during LotR times or the First Age (maybe the Valar, seeing his epic therapy-no-jutsu, decide that sending in a 'diplomat' is better than war. Or maybe they just send him in as a powerful warrior, but he decides to bring peace instead of death). Would prefer the First Age, sometime after the First Kinslaying but before the Second, though anytime works really. (Seriously, I have NEVER seen a Naruto/Silmarilion xover. I'd be grateful for even a drabble). Despite everyone trying to convince him this is a war of good versus evil, and that Morgoth/Sauron/Smaug/ orcs/ the Sons of Feanor are unredeemable, Naruto assumes there's good in everyone (even Morgoth!) and that if he just tries hard enough and gives enough epic friendship speeches, he can make them see the error of their ways. To everyone's shock, it works. DETAILS AT THE PROMPT.

Sauron tries to possess/corrupt Bilbo through The One Ring in order to kill Thorin
(Possess/corrupt because I can't decide between having Sauron physically taking over Bilbo's body or just driving him to insanity by haunting him. You decide.) Now, I have read "Cross my Heart and Hope to Die" which was great, but this isn't quite the same thing. Maybe post-BoFA, but can be any time. Big bonus and stuff for delusions, hallucinations of the flaming Sauron, physical pain (like sensations of being aflame or something) and such protracted mental torture. Even bigger bonus and a hug if Bilbo does attempt the murder but he fails and a very long period of slow healing ensues (with occasional setbacks, since hey, it's powerful evil we are talking about.)

We never seem to get any mention of female orcs (or trolls or goblins for that matter) from any of the books, movies, of lore of Tolkien! This leads me to two theories: A) The orcs are an intersexed species, possessing both male and female reproductive organs. or perhaps more likely B) Their females are indistinguishable from males to outsider eyes, much like elves and men cant tell the difference between a male and female dwarf because they both share such similar characteristics, many of which would only be present in males of human or elven species. For all we Azog is a female orc, riding a massive white bitch, who gave birth to her son Bolg herself, and the dwarves were simply to ignorant to know the difference. I would like to see a fic which explores this second possibility, featuring a fem!Azog (though if someone feels inspired by Theory A then please, feel free to share!) paired with whomever you like; orc, goblin, troll, human, dwarf, elf, or even hobbit! CC or OC! Add

Bilbo/Sauron XOver with Sherlock
Every time Bilbo uses the ring, the dark lord takes a glimpse into his mind and over time takes a interest into the current ring wearer. So in-between having an enraged dragon to defeat and to prepare for an oncoming war no one notices that a tiny hobbit went missing. The armies have already assembled , when Sauron send words to retreat, and willingness to meet with the white council and all current leaders to negotiate terms of peace. Sauron having full control over all Orcs and having his ring back, Gandalf is able to convince the others to agree. Imagine their surprise, meeting a apparently perfect seeming human wearing the one ring. They are explained that those negotiations happen only on behalve of his beloved consort and that he couldn't care less wasting his time with boring idiots. Curious the leaders try to find said consort, to gain that one's favour. Too bad that Sauron guards jealously what is his. When they finally find out that Bilbo is the consort, the reactions va
