The Omnivore’s Agenda: An Interview with Anthony Bourdain
In his first book, Kitchen Confidential, Anthony Bourdain exposed the saucy, sometimes sordid, sex-drugs-and-rock-and-roll lifestyle of the restaurant business. He also guaranteed that no self-respecting foodie would eat sushi on a Monday ever again. He parlayed that success into No Reservations—the rare Travel Channel show to have a parental advisory regarding sexual innuendo—which serves up a heady mix of fine dining, street food, and irreverent and often touching ruminations on love, war, punk rock, and whether bone marrow is better than sex. It is, he admits, the best job in the world.

Best Anthony Bourdain Quotes About Life From Parts Unknown & More
We lost one of the good guys today. He was a warrior. A champion of the undervalued and overserved. He was on our side. He was Sal Paradise with a point. Rick Steves with a mission. Martha Stewart with a pint glass (or two). He was real. He was raw. He was fearless.

We Need to Talk About Anthony Bourdain
The world saw what he ate and how he traveled. Heard him opine often and loudly about things of which he did not approve, and maybe even louder about the things he did. He took great pains to champion the things and people he cared about deeply.

BOURDAIN - Every Day Should Be Saturday
There are people who can see the world in all its poverty and sorrow. But there are so few who recognize themselves in it and of it, and fewer still who invite it in to sit down, to eat, and to have a few minutes of peace and appreciation at the eternal, drunken forgiving present of a dinner table. Anthony Bourdain did — and most generously, tried to show everyone else how to do it, too.

The Insatiable and Unknowable Anthony Bourdain
Anthony Bourdain devoured the world. That’s not hyperbole. It’s not even metaphor. There was no place that he wasn’t curious to explore, no food that he wasn’t determined to try, no cap on his hunger and no ceiling, or so it always seemed, on his joy.

On July 14, 2016, I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to sit down with Anthony Bourdain for an interview. I will always remember our wide-ranging, candid conversation. His untimely passing is a great loss for all of us who loved his books, his television shows and the passion he brought to talking about food and travel.
