rhapsody in raindrops - mintea
Rain hammers against the roof. The gutters overflow and rivers cascade down. Jeongguk finishes his blessings. He takes a deep breath, then steps out into the downpour. He tips his head back and lets the wind and rain buffet him. Lightning flashes, close enough that Jeongguk startles. He opens his eyes, and that’s when he sees it: something hurtling out of the sky, toward the earth.

Somehow Jeongguk knows. Knows that this is the important thing that the storm was bringing, knows where it will land, knows that he needs to help. Without even realizing it, he begins to run.

Crack or Any, Ardyn as Two-Point Hospital PA Announcer
If you aren't familiar with Two-Point Hospital and its cheerfully passive aggressive PA announcer, go look up a few videos. I'll wait.

You back? Good. Now imagine ch13, but with Ardyn talking like her over the PA system.

"Don't mind me, I just enjoy talking into a microphone." ^_^

Just about anything she says could be made to fit. Here are some other gems of hers that would fit particularly well:

"General announcement: has anyone seen my pen?"
"Some [patients] should be ashamed of their condition. You know who you are."
"If you see anything suspicious, please investigate further."
"I get paid to announce, not to hear you complain."
"In case of staff shortage, please contact a member of staff."
"Attention: don't feed the ghosts; they're dead. Thank you."
"Warning: try not to slip in the sick."
"Announcement: it's happening again."

-And when Noctis tries sassing back:
"To the owner of the bluish car: your car is being taken for cubing. That's: a bluish car, for cubing. Thank you."

Go wild with this.

Qui Habitat (Series Masterpost) by Domenika Marzione (domarzione)
An SGA/SG-1 AU that spins off from the Ori arc that runs through Seasons Nine and Ten of SG-1 by changing one simple thing: the Ori don't lose. Earth is the last significant planet to fall in the Milky Way, but fall it does. Hard.

After Earth's fall, a large resistance movement was active, utilizing the Daedalus, the only surviving SGC carrier, as it's main instrument. Running raids in the Milky Way and bringing refugees and supplies to Atlantis, the Daedalus was the only lifeline between the two galaxies. Eventually her luck ran out and she was nearly destroyed by an Ori armada; after limping back to Atlantis, she is no longer flight-worthy and Atlantis is finally truly alone.

Over in Pegasus, Atlantis was first a long-distance witness and then a rear echelon for the escalating fight with the Ori over the Milky Way galaxy before becoming the final retreat for those who survived. Cut off from Earth and forced to revert to its (Season One) status as isolated outpost responsible for its own needs, Atlantis still has the responsibilities it has assumed in Pegasus -- defeating the Wraith and protecting those who can't help themselves -- while also awaiting the inevitable arrival of the Ori.

Anti-social punishment
There's a trope among Slovak intellectual elite depicting an average Slovak as living in a village, sitting a local pub, drinking Borovička, criticizing everyone and everything but not willing to lift a finger to improve things. Moreover, it is assumed that if you actually tried to make things better, said individual would throw dirt at you and place obstacles in your way.

University of Michigan and Stamps School of Art & Design Roman J. Witt Residency
The mission of the Roman J. Witt Residency Program is to support the production of new work in collaboration with the Stamps School of Art & Design community. The program awards one residency per academic year for a visiting artist/designer to work at the school to develop a new work in collaboration with students and faculty.

The artist/designer will spend a good portion of the week working in this gallery (a minimum of three days, with 6 hours per day during museum open hours), creating and installing a work of art that will remain on view. This act of “public making” is an exemplary teaching tool and provides the Stamps School community and the university at large with the opportunity to witness and partake in the creation of a defined work from concept to completion with the artist in residence.

The Witt Residency is open to both established and emerging artists/designers.

Witt Residents receive an honorarium of $20,000 for up to twelve weeks in residence served over an academic year. In addition to the honorarium, residents will be provided with housing, studio space, and up to $4,000 funding support for project materials and installation.

Brexit: Leave ‘very likely’ won EU referendum due to illegal overspending, says Oxford professor’s evidence to High Court | The Independent
Favorite tweet:

Vote Leave cheated and Brexit is a product of fraud. If you cheat in the Olympics, you lose your medal. If you cheat on an exam, you get a fail. We should not leave the EU on the basis of cheating.
