Nicholas Krgovich: “Ouch” Album Review | Pitchfork
“She had just put out a breakup album and said something like she didn’t write about the specifics of the relationship because she didn’t want to build a totem to this one particular person,” Krgovich explains. “What I had just made with “Ouch” was all specificity.”

Letter from the Editor: My Awkward Encounter | The Pioneer
We didn’t get answers to our questions that day. Instead, the first 20 or so minutes of the meeting were spent with both Best and Tepper berating us for The Pioneer’s coverage of the “Common Sense” pamphlets. They never told us not to publish anything, rather they speculated about our reasoning behind covering these pamphlets. They asked that their questions and comments be kept off the record continuously. But, in essence, they believed we were wrong for covering what they called falsehoods and details they said were exaggerated. They even asked me whether, if there had been an anonymous pamphlet spread around campus saying that I was a child molester, I publish it.

The simple answer: yes.

James Baker is still sharp at 88, and Barack Obama is a mere 57, but you couldn’t help feeling that the current climate had left them, and their audience of political moderates, out in the cold.

Marijuana Is Now Teens' Most Popular First Drug - The Atlantic
Everything my teen self knew about gateway drugs, I learned from a frying pan and a college basketball player. They were both tentpoles of the “Just say no” heyday in the 1980s and ’90s, beamed into my brain through after-school television or guest speakers at school assemblies. via Pocket

The Trump Organization Planned To Give Vladimir Putin The $50 Million Penthouse In Trump Tower Moscow
This is probably the most interesting little tidbit of this story: 📰 Two FBI agents with direct knowledge of the Trump Tower Moscow negotiations told BuzzFeed News earlier this year that Cohen was in frequent contact with foreign individuals about the real estate venture — and that some of these individuals had knowledge of or played a role in 2016 election meddling. The identity of those individuals remains unknown. That looks like a direct connection to election meddling, and since Buzzfeed got this info from these sources *prior* to Cohen’s guilty plea today, which means the sources are more than likely trustworthy. The Realestate deals, thus, are unlikely to be separate and distinct interactions with Russia, which the Trump campaign would probably want folks to believe. It seems like, at least from Russia's end, it was working both the campaign and Trump co. https://buff.ly/2BFASIQ
