DAZN reaches 1.3m viewers in Italy |
Global sports streaming service DAZN has around 1.3 million viewers in Italy, according to a study by Lega Calcio on the state of the local pay-TV market.
Not all viewers are paying, nor do all of them pay a full subscription, as DAZN allows up to six devices (mobile phone, tablet or smart TV) to be used on the same account.

UK study: Screen time ‘not harmful to children’ |
The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH), which oversees the training of specialists in child medicine, has produced the guidance for under-18s.
It said there was no good evidence that time in front of a screen is “toxic” to health, as is sometimes claimed. The review of evidence found associations between higher screen use and obesity and depression.
But the college looked at this and said it was not clear from the evidence if higher screen use was causing these problems or if people with these issues were more likely to spend more time on screens.

Hyperion: Tallest Redwood: Heard hide or hair? Scuttlebutt? (Montclair, Fortuna: swimming, used car) - California (CA)
Yep. The 3 of us found Helios, a real bushwhack. I don't really know what to say after finding it, other than that it was disappointing somewhat. I am not giving any clues, but the only very small clue I will give, is that the word 'Lost' applies here, it summed up our day and situation. I am not sure I can recommend going bushwhacking in the most potentially dangerous of places for such a goal to others, after visiting.

AFC Asian Cup 2019 Streaming Live on Youku | Alizila.com
China’s leading online video hub Youku is broadcasting all matches of this year’s AFC Asian Cup live, as it looks to expand its high-definition sports-streaming services.
Running from Jan. 5 to Feb. 1 in the United Arab Emirates, the tournament is the biggest-ever edition, contested by 24 teams instead of the 16-team format that had been in place for the past 10 years.

It is the second major sporting event to tap Youku’s high frame-rate streaming technology, after the FIFA 2018 World Cup in June. Leveraging artificial intelligence technologies to predict movements, the Alibaba-owned online video hub will livestream all 51 matches at 50 frames per second, providing a significantly more-detailed and realistic viewing experience than the TV broadcasting standard of 25fps.

Apple’s Errors – Stratechery by Ben Thompson
The good news for Apple is that, to the extent these errors really were predictable, there is nothing structurally different about the company’s competitive position today versus six months ago, when the current stock slide began.

The next iPhone hardware revision should sell better in China, simply by virtue of being new (and the implication of it being easy to switch away from iOS is that it’s easy to switch back).
Customers still prefer Apple’s flagship iPhones, no matter how expensive they are.
Headwinds like currency and battery replacement programs will go away, and phones, thanks to their centrality in people’s lives as well as the greater likelihood of harm, will always have a faster replacement cycle than PCs.
