From point of care to mobile communication: Patient engagement spans the entire healthcare journey 20180511
From point of care to mobile communication: Patient engagement spans the entire healthcare journey Written by Raj Toleti, CEO and Co-Founder of HealthGrid | May 11, 2018 | Print  | Email inShare A healthy patient might spend as little as 15 to 30 minutes with his or her primary care doctor during the course of a year. Add chronic health conditions to the mix, and that same patient will spend an average of 15 hours with his or her doctor out of 8,760 total hours in a year. Whether 15 minutes or 15 hours, point of care visits are critical milestones in a patient’s health journey. It’s where providers diagnose and treat patients, but it should serve as just the beginning of the provider-patient relationship.

Meet Bandaid, the Dropbox service proxy | Dropbox Tech Blog
Request queueing implemented inside the proxy allows for better management of overloaded backends. Bandaid always processes requests in Last In, First Out (LIFO) order. When the system is not overloaded, the queue will be empty (or almost empty). Thus there’s no real difference between popping requests from the front of the queue or the back of the queue. Where LIFO processing reduces overhead is when the system is overloaded. By processing the newest requests first—since the oldest requests are likely to time out soon—we avoid spending CPU cycles on expiring requests.

edibna - We're Gonna Have to do This Together
I had a blast reading this story. I loved the character voices, the concept, and I laughed out loud a few times. Peter feels like a real teenager and I loved that Tony stepped up to help.

Summary: Being a superhero sometimes means you forget about the small dangers in the world, like disease. For Peter, this means he loses May to natural causes, not something he could ever save her from.

Unknown to him, May left custody of Peter in the hands of Tony Stark, who, even though he wants kids, has no idea how to actually raise one. With a grieving superhero teenager on his hands, Tony is going to have to figure it out quick, if he wants Peter to ever be able to move on and be happy.
